Ivanka Trump wore a stunning gown with matching monochrome earrings to a pre-inauguration dinner as her father publicly praised her for 'marrying well'. The 35-year-old donned a streamlined white gown with a high neck, cap sleeves and a slimming black waist that formed a dramatic bow at the back. Tiffany Trump, who paired a beaded ivory number with metallic belt, was also lauded by the president-elect for being 'incredible'.

Donald and Melania Trump attended a black-tie dinner in Washington D.C. on Thursday night, their final engagement before he is sworn in as the 45th president
Ivanka flew to DC with her family on Friday morning and attended the dinner accompanied by her good friend Deng, who wore a dark blue dress with cutout shoulders. The 35-year-old was also seen posing with Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, an event planner once employed by Vogue editor Anna Wintour to organize the elaborate Costume Institute galas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Winston Wolkoff, who has long been friends with Melania, has now found a place organizing many of the inauguration events. Donald Trump appeared on stage on Thursday night, with supporters like Caitlyn Jenner and Jackie Evancho in the crowd, as he issued several thanks to key members of his staff. All of Trump's children also won a mention. He lauded Tiffany for being 'incredible', and congratulated Ivanka, who is primed for a key role in the Office of the First Family, for her choice of husband. Joking about his close relationship with Kushner, Trump said of his 35-year-old daughter: 'We have in the audience a special person who has worked very hard, who married very well. It's my daughter Ivanka.' Trump joked: 'I sort of stole her husband.'

Kushner will take an unpaid position as senior adviser to the president. Details of what his job may entail have been so far scarce. But Trump shed light on it on Thursday night, revealing his hope that Kushner will be able to bring peace to the Middle East. 'If you can't produce peace in the Middle East, nobody can. All my life I've been hearing that's the toughest deal to make but I have a feeling Jared is going to do a great job.' Ivanka has yet to officially reveal what her plans are once her father takes office, although she will be settling her family in to their new $5.5million home in the Kalorama neighborhood just blocks away from the Obamas' new residence.
While Ivanka has shot down rumors that she will be taking on the role of First Lady, it seems she will be busy fighting for issues like childcare and education. Ivanka issued an official statement last week, announcing she would be stepping down from her roles at Trump Organization as well as her own accessories brand. She expressed her interest in advancing 'the education and empowerment of women and girls; leveling the playing field for female entrepreneurs and job creators and unleashing the potential of women in the workplace'.

Deng, the former wife of Rupert Murdoch, recently hosted a women's power dinner at her $34million penthouse apartment ahead of Ivanka's big move from New York to DC. Among the attendees who turned up to give Ivanka advice were Tory Burch, Mika Brzezinski, Tina Brown, Christy Turlington Burns, and former White House press secretary Dana Perino. Pattie Sellers, the executive director of Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit, was another guest at the dinner. She wrote about the evening on Fortune, and said: 'Trump explained that she wanted to learn from the efforts of leaders in their fields'. 'We talked about entrepreneurship, equal pay, paid leave, and a lot about where the Donald Trump Administration may have the most opportunity: education.'
