I have no idea what is going on at Royal and I can take anything. I was just pointing out responses like that are costing us valued opinions. Opinions are rarely any good if all you get are people that do nothing but agree with you. I have heard about the Royal issues and I in no way am here to stand up for them per se, but you came in here with nothing but "hey I got some people telling me they aren't getting paid". How come these people don't come forward and post the details? How come you don't give Royal a chance to refute what you say? It isn't just Royal, this applies to any book out there. It is far too easy for any poster with an agenda to take shots at a book and far too hard for a book to defend themselves. I don't stand up for Royal or anyone else in particular, I stand up for the industry as a whole. I even said that there would be problems, but to come and take random shots at a book without proof isn't proving any problems and will just make it more difficult for the many honest people out there working. They can't even say anything in here without getting labeled "shill", but anyone can just create an identity and take a shot at someone and lots of people come rushing in without even demanding much proof. Velton was the first to meet that level of disclosure and guess what, they settled it. No it wasn't settled in the quickest way possible, but it was settled.
To come in here or anywhere else and just say a book is a shit book because I know someone isn't paid instantly there does a disservice to every single person here except those fronting an agenda . That is my two cents, say what you want, flame me all you want. I just can't believe that posters here in general are wanting a world where about three books exist with kudos and the others get nothing but bad PR from people that won't even fully disclose what their issue is or what their agenda is.
