You can't have it both ways as many boast this win & that win & bring up what their ranking was at the time of the game. You can't take away OSU having 7 wins against teams that were ranked whether you like it or not.

And yet Okie St's loss came a mere few hours afer they lost several members of their OSU family. Bama had their shot at home and lost. The only way there should have been a rematch was if LSU was undefeated, Bama had 1 loss, and everyone else had two.

Bama ended up playing three teams who finished with records above .500. Whoopee. Ok. State has played more higher ranked teams this year than Bama, both in the BCS Top 25 and BCS Top 50. Oh, and they also did this little thing called winning their conference. Alabama didn't even win their own division.

I'm not an Ok St fan...but this whole selection process is a major joke.

They had 7. 'Bama had 6. 'Bama has better wins. 'Bama lost against a better team. I just don't see the argument here...

bottom line is lsu has to beat bama again to win this championship which imo they do...another poster said in one of the many lsu/bama threads that if you give saban alot of prep time he will beat you. well he was giving 2 weeks to prepare for lsu the 1st time and lost. he is now getting a month and the result will be the same. lsu -pts imo will bring the money home. doesnt matter if its bama or okie st.

Biggest factor i think is the turf. It will make the speed advantage LSU has the deciding factor. Jefferson is much better than he was at Bama now that the rust is off. And it appears that Hillard will be the #2 back and in there on every 3rd down and red zone play. 3 big factors right there.

Of course you can take it away. Texas A&M as ranked #8 in the country before a single game was played. They are now 6-6 and going to something called the Texas Bowl. If you beat A&M inweek #1 what are you going to say, "we beat the #8 team in the country and that is an impressive win"? No, it should be like we beat an average 6-6 team going to a nowhere bowl. Who cares what they are ranked when you played them, all that matters is what they are ranked at the end of the year to make a legit argument.

Jake, no disrespect either...I think you're kind of missing the point.

If the BCS has determined that Alabama is the 2nd best team this year, then the NC game seems completely pointless to me. LSU already beat Alabama in their house this year, so they have already proven it on the field. No need to play the game again. Sure, LSU may get beat...but what would THAT prove, exactly? This isn't baseball or basketball where we play a best-of 5 or 7 game series. Just crown LSU the champs now and let everyone else play their bowl games. Okie St's offense against LSU's D could have made a very interesting and entertaining BCS bowl matchup, but we won't get to see it. Instead it's another SEC West regular season game that has been labeled a National Championship.

THAT'S the point. This rematch completely undermines the reasoning behind college football not having a playoff. It destroys the argument that the college football regular season is in fact the playoff and is more important the regular seasons in the NFL, NBA, or NCAA basketball. It renders the regular season match up between these two teams meaningless and shows that winning the conference or even the division really isn't that important as long as you're a good team and get the media hype. So why even have conference championship games? All of the sudden, the house of cards that is the BCS comes tumbling down.

After Bama lost to LSU they were out of the National Championship hunt.

However, every other contender shit the bed and, as a result, they made the title game.

Blame Stanford for losing at home to Oregon.

Blame Oregon for losing at home to SC.

Blame OK state for losing to IOWA STATE.

Blame OU for losing to Baylor and Ok State.

The list goes on and on.

Bama played themselves out of the title game but the rest of the country played them back in.

Ok. St missed a FG that would have won it, the ball went right over the upright, it could have been ruled a good FG. Alabama only beat 4 teams with a winning record, 1 being Grambling state, another being 7-5 Auburn.
In what universe did Grambling play Alabama? :think2:

im a BAMA fan and i think they should implement a playoff just like the college hoops does.now of course im not saying 64 teams get in but maybe the top nine with the number 1 team getting a bye and playing it out that way.this way if you lose your out, case closed
