Nobody is not saying not to play the 2nd tier bowl games, have at it ! If we kept with tradition on everything alot of good things would have been missed, why not just have the 4 BCS games mean something. Big 10 fans might fill stadiums, but most teams lose money on these games. Uconn is playing in its first BCS game but can't get anyone to go. Whats the point ?

Those that grew up in the midwest know CFB is about tradition. If you grew up watching CFB on New Year Day, outside playing back yard ball and coming in to watch the Rose Bowl late afternoons you might have a different take. Unlike almost all fans today I dont need a National Title game to satisfy the end of the season. I grew up with polls at the end of the year and it made for great conversation during the holidays. As long as Big Ten fans keep filling stadiums in the south and west every year they will keep having bowl games. Its fantastic for kids from the midwest to get a holiday trip with gifts and events to end their playing careers with. I think people lose sight that most of these kids will not play football when it is all said and done and these experiences for most of them will last a lifetime. I know the old players I talk to think so.
if you think it will give you something good to talk about during the holiday's, just imagine what it would be like if the playoff's were put into place......it would be ten times better!!!! which winner's would be matcched up w the other winner's and so on...it would overtake the nfl....
