The US could leave the MidEast. Americans could begin to develop a sense of respect for the fact that they would blast the crap out of anyone who was occupying their country, siding with dictators, persecuting your race, siding with the opponent, etc. Yeah, you'll probably have to pay more for your oil, but you could offset that with the money you'll save funding guys like Saddam and setting up all those military bases and spending gazillions shooting 'em up.
