Here's 20 seconds of footage shot by DemocracyNow producer Nicole Salazar yesterday (9/1/08)while she tried to document and report on a Police response to demonstrators. She was wearing her press credential and is heard screaming "Press" to the police as they assault her.
She and several other members of the press who were covering the situation were subsequently arrested and charged with a felony. I wonder who'll be the first anti-american ass to come into this thread and defend the action of cops assualting someone with a camera and press a credential.

You obviously know nothing about the story. The cops came from all directions and they had nowhere to go.
There were several media reporters in the area that this happened to. She's the only one that got it on camera. The cops took the battery out of her camera, but left the film.
Do you think she should've been arrested, charged with a felony, and held for 8 hours? Would've been longer, but several politicians got involved and got her released, but they never dropped the charges. Do you believe in a free press?

You obviously know nothing about the situation. The riot cops came from multiple directions and had them cornered in a parking lot. At that point they had nowhere to go. A reporter for the New York Post was next to her and had basically the same thing happen to him.
Even if your version is correct (and it isn't), why would you then arrest and charge a member of the press with a felony?
