Its game day in Vancouver and I am looking to get back the other $650 we dropped on the ANAHEIM game - Since the trade deadline +1775 on Canucks plays.
I have a play in mind but want to watch the line moves through out the day and post later this evening probably close to game time.
But here are some thoughts on this game - This is the 8th game in 16 days OTR for the Islanders & they wont even be done they still have to go to ST louis on Saturday.
Thomas Greiss has been scary good .917 save % OTR, but the ISLES do tend to let down ....7X in the past 13 they have 3 or more goals scored against them
They have 7 wins in the past 13 games - and 3 have come against PO teams - I was Montreal who they caught in a coaching change....the other 4 COL, NJD, DET & Dallas
Not sure if any of you have been watching Canucks games with a vested interest, but they are playing some pretty damn solid hockey with the kids in the line up they are in every game.
IN fact in the last 10 games they have only lost by 2 or more goals 3X - Twice to the sharks and once to the Pens (Who are here on Saturday night)
Although the Canucks traded away veterans at the deadline - The team is still eyeing a run to the playoffs and Coach Willie needs to win to save his job.
I would have to say Dejardins has done a great job - Half the team is injured, the Talent level is young but low by NHL standards yet the Canucks hang around in games
Its funny though as the sentiment in the city is lose to improve the drafting status, but come on these guys are professionals they have not quit, the coaches are not mailing it in, they want to win.
Tonight provides them with an opportunity and knowing the Pens are on deck I think we see a very determined effort.
Let's face it two .500 clubs both need points should be a good NHL game
Quote from Brendan Gaunce - one of the cancuck forwards
"I think we have been playing pretty well lately," Gaunce said. "All our lines are playing well. It's good, and the room is feeling good right now. We just need to come in with the same attitude we had."
Back later today.
