Or is Texas A&M really, really bad? I can't decide.

A&M is really, really bad. This is a combination of both though. The Utes barring a major breakdown should win the Mtn West again IMO.

A+M can't pass and can't stop the pass. Deadly combination.

I am embarrassed to say I will be losing a tidy sum on them because I darred to follow Phil Steele's "College Play of the Day" and read about his hype of A+M being one of the "surprise" "most improved teams in the country" in his Rag. I have nobody but myself to blame for believing his garbage.

aTm is really, really putting on a how "not to" play defense--more like a how not to give a f&&k about anything at all.

All of this is very very true, but lets give Utah some credit. Alex Smith went 21 of 29 for 359 yrd and 3 TDs. Not to mention 13 rushes for 76 yrds and 2 TDs.

Thats a total of 435 yrds and 5 TDs. A team with a dual threat QB is always gonna be dangerous, and I believe that is exactly what Utah is DANGEROUS. I know there isn't a team in D1 that wants to see them on their schedule. I can't say I was too impressed with the defense, but with an explosive offense like Utah has all you need is a defense that's average. Yes Texas A&m isn't a marquee program right now, but they are in one of the best conferences and in a state that is a big time hot spot for recruits. I have gained respect for Utah and would like to believe this win is credited to their talent and not to the lack there of from A&M.

great post jowens7,

You're right on with your analysis of Smith. He was tremendous tonight, and it wasn't just because aTm's defense sucks.

Utah looked good. I bet against them tonight but they damn sure made a great impression on me. Their offense is solid.

Big 12 is and has always been a sewer, teams from state of texas always overrated anyway, look at Longhorn baseball and their little leauge team this year, they both got pissed on.

Nobody? Oklahoma, USC, Miami, LSU, Florida St., Georgia... I would have a hard time not laying my house on the line if one of these weren't the favorite at Utah.

Utah has a great chance to go 13-0, due to a very weak schedule!! Is that guy serious no-one would be favored against the Utes at home, cmon get real! CASH
