Is this the year the Braves dynasty comes to an end?

This is for you Chop,
I say yes. I know their bullpen has blown alot of leads this year but their record should be 29-28 according to the stats over at espn.com(based on the runs scored and runs allowed this year). Combine this with Mets overall talent and I think this is the year they lose.

It seems they don't get the respect in the gambling world either this year, doesn't it?

This is about the time of the year that John Shurholtz makes his big move. I will know more in a few weeks. The Braves were actully more games out of first at this time last season than they are now. The bullpen is starting to show signs of life after a bad start.

We need a closer. He does not have to be a superstar, just someone like a Tom Gordan or a Jose Mesa type, and we either need another starter or one of the under achiving starters Thompson/Sosa gets there act together soon. The Braves have no real offensive needs right now. They play solid defense, probably the best in baseball.

So I would say that the Braves are 2 players away from winning the division. We will find out soon if the Braves get those 2 players in time.

The one good thing thats going for us is the fact that nobody else in the division is running away with the lead. This gives the Braves time to do what needs to be done.

I think he's talking about the one where they win the division EVERY year.

You can't really ever count them out, they surged last year to win it, but the Mets are obviously the favorites this year.

It is a big fucking deal. No team in the history of sports has ever won that many.

That best defense in baseball was primarily responsible for the loss tonight. Thanks for the off-night fellas!

I'd rather have my team win a championship once in 10 years instead of winning the division every year for 10 and not winning. Being a Braves fan has to be heartbreaking every year.

Id rather be a Braves fan with 1 ring, than a Marlins fan with 2 rings. Winning 14 straight division titles means that every single year im pulling for a team that plays important games in September. No other fan of any other team in any sport can say that.

Not consecutive.

I think the Celtics and the Oilers came close, but not 14 straight.

gonna have to disagree. marlins have won 2 series win the last 11 years. it's like feast or famine, they're either good and gonna win, or bad and you don't have to watch them later in the season.
the braves just string you along to cut your heart out.

I'll take one title and 15 years of shame GLADLY! I think every DBacks fan will agree with me on this. Atlanta ought to have an annual Dave Justice Day, imagine how bad it would be without him.

I disagree with that. I forgot what it was like to pull for a team that does not play important games.

You dont have any idea how fun it is to watch your team play every single October. 1 World series in 14 years is nothing to sneeze at by the way.

Are you trying to say that the ANGELS,D-BACKS,REDSOX have had better runs than the Braves in the last 15 years.

They only won 1 ring, but they have not been good enough to win there division year after year.

Everyone blast the Braves, but the Braves have been the most succesfull team in all of baseball in the last 15 years with the exception of the YANKEES and maybe the Marlins. But like I said. Id much rather be a Braves backer than a Marlins backer. Win 90 game 1 year, lose 100 the next. Thats no fun.

But that is embarassing man, sorry you have a point about being able to watch them for some years, but when they choke against one team after another that they are usually favored over it has to get disgusting at some point.

:lolBIG: Hard to believe they can win the division that many years in a row and only win one world series.

Bottemline.

There are only 2 teams in the last 15 years that have won more WS than the Braves. Those are the only 2 teams that can even say have been more succesful than Atlanta.

If you say the Braves choke when they lose in the playoffs, I can turn that around by saying the D-Backs or any other team choked by not even making the playoffs.
