I would appreciate peoples opinion on this subject.

I bet on San Diego (+3) at a particular book. They have moved the line to San Diego (+6) due to the loss of home field advantage for San Diego but they refuse to void my bet at (+3).

I am of the opinion that the sporting event I bet on was Miami at San Diego in San Diego. This event no longer exists.

The event I now have a ticket on is Miami at San Diego in Phoenix, a different sporting event with a different level of risk associated with it, as demonstrated by the book moving the line to San Diego (+6).

Have I just been unlucky? or am I being fleeced?

Jack, IMO I would ask where the specific rule is for "change of venue of a sporting event./ See if there is a specific rule on it

There is no specific rule directly addressing this problem.

This may not be important but the original line posted offered very poor value on Miami and quite good value on San Diego.

Jack I think Pinnacle has it right , I love these guys

this was on there main page

Because of wildfires in the San Diego area, the NFL has moved the Monday night Chargers vs Dolphins game to Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona.
Las Vegas rules provide that, because of the site change, all wagers for the game at San Diego will be cancelled. Wagering for the game in Arizona will be offered as a new event.

From another of my outs GA

The Monday Night Game has changed its Site to Phoenix.
Vegas Rules stipulates all prior wagers are no action. Thanks.

I would lean to it being a NEW play and should be canceled..IMO

JackDaw,
Your book will change their mind when the Miami betters start sending in on San Diego =6 for a 3 point middle! Hope your book gets burnt bad! Soon you will see a rule on every sportsbook rule page bout a late change of where a game is played! GOOD LUCK MIDDLERS!!

All previous bets should be voided......unless specifically stated in rules that the bet is good go go no matter where it is played at.

Should be voided of course... only place not to void is probably SIA.

Slash,

Just to confirm the book is not SIA, as far as I am aware they voided.

otherwise when people had the away team they may go torch the stadium to take away home field advantage.

What if you have the first have of a winning teaser hooked up with the original Monday night line? Is it a no bet?

I have concluded that I have just been unlucky on this one. The difference of opinion was caused by a different interpretation of their (somewhat ambiguous) rules over when a bet is voided.

To cut it short I concluded Miami vs San Diego in Phoenix to be a different event to Miami vs San Diego in San Diego. The book however sees it as the same event.

Jack: why won't you post the name of the book? Was it SIA? Inquiring minds want to know

It is not SIA. I don't want to post the books name as I have previously found them to be honest and reputable (although I'm down $10k there) and don't want to be responsible for creating negative publicity for them.

They are not a book that I can see many people here using anyway so there is no need to be concerned. The difference of opinion was caused by a different interpretation of their rules. They see the situation as a new risk assessment but the same sporting event.

I have since spoken to their risk manager who said they left the line up at Miami (-3) overnight and have been pounded on Miami.

He said he would LOVE to void all wagers made on this game as they now have a huge exposure on Miami but there is nothing in their rules that allows them to do this (they don't have Vegas rules) so they must honour all bets on the match to uphold their good name.

I guess I'm just pi**ed because I am on the wrong side of the line move.

GO CHARGERS!!!
