With the Spurs, the hack-a strategy was debateable. Between their excellent defense and transition offense, it really was on the borderline if they should foul Jordan.
With Houston it is a complete no brainer though. Listening to the halftime crew debate the merits of it was funny. They have NO CHANCE whatsoever to stop the Clipps offense now that Paul is healthy. Of course they should let a 40% FT shooter shoot 50 FTs over giving up layups and open 3s every possession.
I actually liked first half in a perverse way. Novelty wears off fast but it was kinda riveting, wanted to see him shoot like 65 FTs in a game. Not every game needs to be Clipps/Spurs gm 7
