Why do you're odds increase? I mean for instance if I am flipping a quarter and I am going to flip it two times, do I have 100% increase to hit heads-No. Isn't this like saying that the odds for the first flip are 2-1, but if I flip twice it's 1-1?

Odds increase because you have two chances? Duh. The chance of hitting heads If you flip a coin once is 50% if you flip it twice it is 75%

The first flip is not irrelevent. If you hit the flush on the frist card, the next one doesn't matter. Likewise, if see heads on the first flip you have a 100% chance of seeing heads on one of the two flips

Apologize for the Duh comment. But if you draw multiple cards or flip a coin multiple times the chance of seeing the one you want has to increase

Correct, I just remember many discussions speaking of roulette and how the previous spins don't matter. So if there is 6 reds in a row you don't have a better shot of hitting black. I was just curious what others had to say on the issue.

It is true the coin has no memory - so once you've flipped once, regardless of the outcome, the next flip still has only a 50% chance of being heads. BUT if you're defining a set number of occurances of this act of chance, then you can figure out the odds over the course of that entire set of events.

For coins, a way to think about it is working out the possible outcomes:

One Flip:
H
T
(two possible outcomes, 50% chance either will occur)

Two flips:
TT
HH
TH
HT
(four possible outcomes all equally likely)

And then using the number of outcomes to work out your probabilities. You could do the same with cards as well, although I don't have the skill to illustrate that.
