i agree its a dumb rule but yes i had this issue many years ago and you bet the adjusted line automatically

Its the same way in vegas, I don't like it either, but it's not that big of a deal for me. I don't cap MLB based on pitching so I always take action, because I make my bets based on what I think the market is going to do. At least they give you the new opening line instead of the closing line, otherwise it would be a deal breaker for me. New opening line isn't ideal but its acceptable.

Is there any other circumstance in any sport where a wager is accepted at one price but allows the book to change the line listed
Only thing in any way similar I can think of is Horse racing. Nothing more annoying than betting a 3-1 shot at Yonkers with 1 minute to Post, and then seeing the hit down to 3:5 AFTER the freaking gate opens.
