CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Republican David Jolly defeated Democrat Alex Sink on Tuesday in a Tampa-area House district where President Barack Obama's health care overhaul got its first test ahead of November's midterm elections.

Bill Clinton lent his political muscle to Democrat Alex Sink’s election campaign for the 13th congressional district of Florida, but to no avail. Sink wound up losing to her Rand Paul-supported Republican opponent, David Jolly, in what many analysts are calling a bellwether election for the impact of Obamacare on the 2014 election cycle.

:think2:

I sure hope so.

The spin has already started.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Obama’s former political strategist said that the unpopular healthcare law “motivated the Republican base,” allowing Republican David Jolly to defeat Democrat contender Alex Sink. Many political analysts considered the race a referendum on Obamacare and a barometer for things to come in the fall midterm elections.

According to Axelrod, the “real challenge” for Democrats is to inspire young people and minorities to come out and vote in the fall’s midterm elections. “We didn't do it in 2010, if we don’t do it in 2014, it’s going to be a very difficult year,” he said.

what Axelrod is actually saying is that they will have to really pick it up with the voter fraud this fall to keep the Senate..you know, like 150% turnout in some of their districts,etc

Which Lefty will bump this thread in 4 years if Dave is wrong?

It won’t take 4 years. If the Republicans don’t win the majority in the Senate in November the jubilation will begin immediately and billions of sperm will parish in what will the most epic circle jerk ever.

Which lefty? Your Guesser is as good as mine.

The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round!

Mr. Ed speaks to the Wilbur’s of the country.

Ed Schultz spent the entirety of his first segment on Wednesday's The Ed Show trying to downplay Republican David Jolly's special election win in Florida's 13th Congressional District. Nationwide political pundits and both parties were watching to see if Jolly or Democrat Alex Sink would win the seat vacated last fall by the death of former Congressman Bill Young.

As polling places closed Tuesday evening in the district west of Tampa, MSNBC anchors were offering updates while the top and bottom of the hour news updates continually ran alerts that the Jolly-Sink election was a key precursor of November 2014. The race was considered a "referendum" on Obamacare as Jolly had ardently opposed it in his campaigning. Yet the day after Jolly's victory, Schultz took the opportunity to debunk the idea that the Affordable Care Act was responsible, instead urging Democrats to run as its champions. He cried:

Democrats, let this be a lesson. You don't have to fix anything...

He then argued only Democrats with guts will stand with the president and his signature healthcare law,

So any Democrat that runs ads and goes out there and plays into the negative narrative, that 'Well I'm gonna go out there and fix Obamacare.' Is that the first thing you're gonna say in your ad Democrats? No! We're on the right side of history, we're saving money... we're are saving lives... We are headed in the right direction!

Schultz continued that the Obamacare rollout or its supposed future success should not be a reflection of how important or good it is. After his own bloviating, Schultz bashed Fox News and other networks for their coverage of the special election without mentioning how his colleagues had emphasized the importance of the race.

Schultz also interviewed Democrat National Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who warned that the Jolly victory should not make Republicans overconfident about the 2014 midterms. Schultz agreed, noting that in his heart, he knows "progressives" will come out on top in November.

Yep, Big Government Progressivism has destroyed a once free and prosperous country.

USA = Roman Empire

A society cannot endure if it's survival rests on the fortunes of one political party. Right now we have one semi-serious party while the other represents the bread and circus vote.

Only way to reverse course would be if Democrats miraculously reverted to their Jeffersonian roots (classic liberalism) and Republicans became more conservative.

Reality check: NOT GONNA HAPPEN - the culture is lost

Kenyan-born Obama legacy:

* downgraded credit rating (first time in history)
* attacks on personal liberty (using the alphabet agencies to "punish our enemies")
* destroyed health care (1/6th of the economy)
* nuclear middle east
* Israel thrown under the bus
* new cold war
* drag queens in the military
* record food stamps
* record number of unemployed

Did I miss anything?

The "fundamental transformation" is complete.

Yeah, cause I do believe those are the most informed voters when it comes to politics in the United States. They scour everywhere for information to make a rational decision on who they should vote for.
