Some times I read this place and cringe.
But other times I read it with a happy smile.

This place biggest weakness is also its biggest strength .

Some of the vile things that gets said is due to almost completely unmoderated free speach which is pretty rare in its purest form.

Anything short of planing a terrorist attack or posting child porn gets allowed.
You can make the most racist of comments, you can even make death threats and not even get slapped on the wrist .You can even expose someone's true identity and not get banned.

So this is both good and bad and makes this a truly unique place.

So what does everyone think?

Do the positives outweigh the negatives?

I don't think a single poster in the political forum with at least 500 post wouldn't get banned for some of the things you say here at another place.

It's a good question. When you look at guys like Dave, Joe, Russ and Acebb......the rx poly forum is probably a good place for them. I doubt they function very well in normal society. Very socially inept people but a place like this gives them a voice......they don't actually have to see the person run from them in a visual way.

For others, I think it's just a sounding board with occasional amusement. I rarely talk politics outside of this place......it just doesn't make a difference in my every day life. I think most here feel the same way.

Overall I think the positive outweighs the negative if you take it for what's it's worth. Because the negative part of this place is part of the amusement.
