Fun Fact, that will only take two seconds

This morning after pumping gas, I was rebuffed at the Speedway Mens Room by a locked door, so I turned left and walked right into the Womens Room, No Questions Asked.

I dropped a bomber, but was quite tidy and of course did a courtesy flush so the next (probably) female who entered would feel safe

Another Fun Fact that only takes two seconds

Over 95% of sexual assaults against females under age 15 are perpetrated by a family member or someone who is well known by immediate family.

So meanwhile, the Predators who desire to assault young females will now embrace a strategy that has them entering a Target restroom in a store that has cameras every 50', commit their crime and 'sneak out' without anyone knowing....risking a jail sentence in most jurisdictions of 15+ years and a lifetime RSO tag.

Sorry, my last post was unduly logical, eschewing kneejerk emotional considerations

The hb2 bill in North Carolina, what people like to call the bathroom law, has way more implications than simply bathrooms. I wish people would see this.

It basically fails to protect the lgbt community from all forms of discrimination at the state level. For example, if your bosss fires you because you're gay.. Too bad according to the state, they tell you to take it up with federal court. It shouldn't matter what party one affiliates with, this is basic human decency. I have never voted democrat it my life, but would this fall against this governor. Shameful that people will stick to their party lines, even on basic rights. But then again, look at what the republican party has become.

The bathroom law is stupid and it shouldnt pass. I dont agree with homosexuals, but getting fired for being gay is wrong in all ways. It sounds like to me they need to adjust the wording of the law.

I always thought a courtesy flush was a flush that you do midway through your business, so-as to minimize the foul aroma that those around might
have to endure. The offending effluvium is whisked away, prior to wiping - allowing one to linger on the bowl (reading... or whatever) sparing
innocent bystanders...

And yet, every state recognizes some form of at-will employment.

I don't need to fire you because you're gay -- I can fire you because you were seven minutes late on Monday, or you dropped the fries, or you're not wearing enough flair.

Most of the anti-discrimination laws mean well, but if the business owner/manager is halfway clever, they can still fire homosexuals, minorities, retards, whatever.

And the honest business-owners get screwed, because now they're stuck with even *more* regulation, paperwork, legal fees, etc.

Even better (or worse), there have been several studies that indicate anti-discrimination laws often have the *opposite* effect.

Instead of hiring a transgender African-American (and dealing with the potential shit-storm, if you need to fire them) -- many owners/managers simply don't hire them.

One of the recent studies -- in some states, companies are no longer allowed to check Credit History during the background process. And the result? Yep, *less* minorities have been hired. It sucks, but some companies apparently have taken the approach of "Wait, we can't check LaQeesha's credit history? Well, if we can't check her history, we'll just assume the worst. We'll make the safe hire, and go with Mark Smithers."

interesting points funky monkey....well intentioned rules/regulations can often come with unintended consequences

tough to find the right balance which I guess is why we all argue about this kind of stuff

If those states are arresting people in cases like these why does North Carolina require such a different set of laws?

1) The same reason liberals think the legislation of "No Gun Zones" will protect us from mass shooters.
2) North Carolina's General Assembly is very conservative, but some of the towns/cities are liberal. The towns/cities were passing pro-LGBTQ legislation, and HB2 was the General Assembly's response. "Fuck you, we're the State, and we're going to override all the local action."

Ironically, liberals don't seem to have a problem with #2, when it's the Feds overriding the States.

That's usually the case Zit. But I think Barman meant that when he uses the men's bathroom at Speedway he exits without flushing the bomber. However when using the women's bathroom in an uh, emergency, he is courteous enough to flush before pulling up his skirt and exiting the premises ;-)
