Let's say you have 5 people with 5 different computers in 5 different locations. Is there a way to input something in excel and it automatically shows up on all 5 computers? And no matter which of the 5 computers you input the data it shows up on all 5

Drop Box - You can share files and limit editting to certain members.

Google drive is good I like it alot but - the files get converted to Google files from Excell I think you would like drop box better for this application.

If you want to set up an account let me invite you - if you referral someone give you more Storage - Shoot me a pm with youremail and i will send you an invite

Then you can invite your partners

If multiple people need to edit it at the same time, google drive.

If not, dropbox.

The way you describe it, no, unless you programmed some on change event and your 4 other buddies workbooks could be accessed through a network.

This is exactly what google docs (drive) is. There is one spreadsheet, if you change it, I see your changes. We are both accessing the same spreadsheet in the cloud and making edits on it at the same time.

It keeps revision history too.

It's exactly what he's describing.

I didn't say anything about google docs or putting one file on a shared drive. I'm just talking about 5 different computers with 5 workbooks. Having 5 computers connected to one workbook in a shared drive is obviously possible.

I would call what you wrote stupid but that would be an insult to stupid people.

Google Drive is what you want OP

He didn't say anything about 5 different workbooks. Just 5 people in 5 different locations.

So what he's describing is possible. That's all I was saying. I know you didn't mention google docs but others in the thread had, thus my reference to it.

Sure he does...

I'm speaking from a technical standpoint of excel and being able to connect multiple workbooks without having a single shared workbook. Obviously having one workbook that is shared is possible and not a single person in this thread said anything incorrect about how this can be accomplished.

I doubt there is a single person on this website that knows more about excel than I do. Obviously it's possible to have a shared workbook that multiple people can access and make changes to.

Not shocking that reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

5 computers <> 5 workbooks

I am absolutely 1000% positive that I know more about excel than you do, but ok.
