My buddy back in Philly has a good idea for this. To avoid the cold calls and to get around his wife's nagging about betting on the games he bought a cheap prepaid phone and uses it when he gets away from her. All that he does with it is make bets on weekends and calls up scorephones. During the week he uses his regular cell at the office, but makes sure not to use the scorephone so they don't get a number to call. After prime time and on weekends prepaid phones are very cheap, so the timing works out very well with football season. If someone ever calls the second phone, he knows it isn't something he wants to answer. Just an idea...
800-555-tell is great. They don't care about your # and they'll never call you. I believe you can get stocks, weather, and driving directions too.
In fact I remember using it for driving directions once when I was desparate.
Anyway....it's probably the best for sports scores. Pretty up-to-date. I remember lots of late night trips where I had to keep up with some obscure D1 Basketball game.... When you're on the road and you don't have a wireless internet zone 800-555-tell is the only option.
