Is the total for Tex/Oh St a bit low?

53.5? This will be the best offense Oh St has faced all season and Beanie Wells should have a field day against that Big 12 defense. This game may not be one of the highest scoring bowls but low 50s seems rather low to me. I can see at least one of them scoring 28+, possibly both.

Any thoughts?

I think that OSU putting up a whopping 9 points vs. USC and Penn State combined is helping to keep this down. Prior to the last 2 title games though, OSU usually rolled up the points in Bowl games...looking at past results, under Tressel they've put up 24, 14, 34, 33, 35, 31, 28 in their bowl games.

just a matter of how big ohio states chunks of yardage are. they had a shitload of drives this year where theyll score in 11 plays with 9 of them being traditional runs by the running backs and some by pryor as well. if the run is working, they are one of the few teams who wont abandon it and become a boring but efficient team to watch. total does seem low, but im not thrilled about tressel and any total 50+

You must have not watched the game against Florida and LSU. Tressel abandons the run very quickly if he falls behind, unlike some teams.

He did it against UF. They scored on 5 play drive with 4 runs and then he comes back on the next series and throws 3 straight pass plays after they were getting good chunks on the ground.

He panicks much too quickly.
