Rick Neuheisel won't be shocked if the Big12 grabs a Pac-12 team[/h]
(Photo: 247Sports) Could a Pac-12 school leave the conference and join the Big-12? Former UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel speculated on Thursday that very possibility on his SiriusXM radio show.
The former UCLA, Washington, and Colorado's head coach said that he wouldn't be shocked if UCLA tried to get out from underneath USC's shadow and bolt for the Big -12.
"I wouldn’t be surprised to see UCLA say, "You know what? This deal with this USC thing? We’re gonna go and be our own guy, rather than always tied to the school here in Los Angeles." It wouldn’t shock me at all," said Neuheisel. "I don’t have any inside information. I’m just saying from outside looking in."
The move to the Big-12 would certainly be an interesting move and something we have seen before between conference rivals. Texas A&M wanted to get out and be away from Texas in the Big-12, and they bolted to the SEC.
While the move would certainly check off a lot of financial checkboxes from TV and other areas, the move seems pretty crazy for UCLA.
Football season can't get here soon enough.
