If not it sure must be getting close. I have never seen regular season games between two teams have the same playoff intensity nearly everytime. Nearly a decade of brawls, overtimes, game sevens, and stanley cups between these two teams.

Bruins/Canadiens have been going at it longer but has lost intensity due to lack of competiveness.

Hah...Not if you asked anyone in Quebec,Montreal or Toronto.....

From an American POV YES!

The classic battles Montreal and Boston use to have were up there, both teams have fizzled though...

You have to go back nearly 30 years where that matchup meant something. Obviously any of the original 6 teams were big rivals at one time. Montreal/Detroit, Toronto/Monteral, Chicago/ Toronto, NYR/Boston. Now days with all the teams it is incredible how heated and competitive this rivalry has become. Yes the O'Reily/Tremblay brawls were great and so were the games. This Lanche/Wings thing has been going on for nearly a decade with numerous cups and finals

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

I'd guess some of the old rivalries were pretty intense - Boston/Montreal, Quebec/Anyone that doesn't speak French

No way, they get a lot of attention because they don't play that much. The rivalry between the New York teams and the Flyers/Devils/Rangers can often be better. There really though is nothing in hockey like the Leafs and Canadiens. Back when they were in different conferences that twice a year game was the hottest ticket around.

ARMY/NAVY...lol, why is Army always mentioned first when you hear this one?

SO MUCH MONEY BEING MADE ,TEAMS DON`T HAVE THE ABSOLUTE DISLIKE ONCE DEMONSTRATED!!!

You watch those old NFL Films Super Bowls when players were making average money, you could feel their pain when they lost, you don`t see that kind of passion today...

My top 5

Steelers / Raiders 70`s, crimes committed!
Cowboys / Redskins not what it was...
Duke / UNC 7 miles apart
Michigan / OSU always meaningful
NYY/ BOS Th Curse, Fisk/Munson etc Dent,lol
