Is SpyBot still working for you? (Offtopic)

About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the latest update for SpyBot. Now it never finds Any "immediate Threats".
Yet I still see popup ads from time to time. Before this latest update, it allways found them, but now it doesn't . I've also run the full Virus scan on the entire computer and nothing is found.

I just wonder if Spybot has stopped working .

Spybot works for me oldmantime..PLUS I have Opera Browser and you get very small amounts of pop ups on that...its a free browser download

I run it and it finds problems, but when I delete them it disables Internet Explorer. Anyone know what could cause this?

Same thing happened to me Mike, very scary, took 2 hours on phone with tech support from my ISP to do a "temp fix". Bascially had to shut down any addons to browser, so now I can't get fancy at all

Use the free version. I find that with the new definitions, it works better than spybot.

The paid version comes with a adwatch program too.

i've used ad-aware, its free, and seems to do a pretty good cleaning, almost always finds things....seems more thorough than spybot...

Oldmantime, I would try uninstalling it and re-downloading it, it sounds like the same problem I had a while back, but I would goto update and it would scan for updates and bring up the same updates I had d/l 2 minutes before.. I believe the problem may be with the proxy server,. If you don't want to uninstall and re-d/l you can goto the FAQ page at the web site and click on the faq about proxy settings.
