The kid has no idea how to slide and leaves himself vulnerable to take a hit almost every single play!

He is going to be hurt again soon. He simply does not play smart and protect himself at all.

He sucks. I have no idea why they don't start Cousins.

He has really regressed as a QB.

Perhaps he doesn't have confidence in his knee or his rookie year was a fluke, but he is just plain bad.

What made RGIII special his rookie season was the threat of him running and the read option. Almost all his big plays came from that. Completed sucked up the linebackers giving him wide open receivers behind them. Since his injury they're trying to turn him in to a prototypical qb and he's just not that good in the pocket. I don't recall a single read option the entire game. They have to get him running again somehow. It's what made him special.

Danny Boy would rather go 0-16 with RGIII as the starter than to admit it was a mistake to give up so many draft picks for him. Just think what the 'Skins could have if they just took Cousins and and had all of those draft picks. To start Cousins would be the ultimate failure for Snyder and he would rather go down with a sinking shop because he acts like he is the smartest guy in the world. He actually needs a GM with balls to tell him the "Emperor has no clothes."

IF I were Washington, I'd trade RG3 to St. Louis and roll with Cousins.

I don't know what people see in Cousins. He's great in the preseason but damn was he bad when he started last year.

Do you think it was Shanny's advice to take RG3 or did the owner make the call?

It's only the dudes 3rd year. And as a die hard skins fan since I was born, his rookie season was the best Redskins season I have seen in the past 20+ years. Harsh critics for a dude who won ROY then tore every ligament in his knee. Even today he didn't do that bad. He's just not as good as a straight pocket passer. But some of you are being a little dramatic. It's not like the skins were world beaters before they traded down for him.

RG3 not really to blame for the loss. Niles Paul was streaking to the Texans 10 yard line and fumbled after a perfect pass from RG3 and then him/Alf lost an exchange the drive before - 2 big red zone turnovers. 1 blocked punt for a TD and 1 80 yard TD = a skins loss. Not saying RG3 played good, but i think it was a mediocre team effort and the o-line still seems to struggle

The question is why is ESPN so stupid that they keep talking about this guy like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread..

I don't think people understand how small RGIII really is. Guys, he is little. And after 2 ACL repairs he simply doesn't have that super fast speed mode he had before his 2nd ACL reconstruction. And you guys are right that little Daniel won't admit his mistakes and will go down on this sinking ship with RGIII- it's obvious because they're trying to turn RGIII into a pocket passer and he's NEVER been a pocket passer. The 'Skins will be a perfect fade team this season.

You guys act like he's the worst qb in the league, lol. He was 29-37 today for 267 yards and no interceptions. The problem is he had 2 yards rushing. They need to make him mobile if they want a chance. It's the only thing that separates him from other qbs.

And as a skins fan the ship has sunk for the past 20 years. Rgiii brings much more to the table than what we had in the past. And Cousins really has done nothing except dominate 2nd/3rd stringers in preseason games. He was not that impressive on the field last year.

RGIII was a great pick up for the Redskins. But they are screwing it up.

In college he had a certain skill set. A very special skill set. It won him the Heisman Trophy. The Redskins used that skill set his first year. It won him Rookie of the year.

Now they want to completely change his approach to the game (yes, I realize Griffin has called for this as well. As has his dad, of all people :WTF: )

I don't see Griffin ever being an effective drop-back pocket passer. I mean, you drafted a read-option, running threat QB, and now you want him to be something else? If you wanted a drop-back pocket passer, you should have drafted a drop-back pocket passer.

Trying to alter his whole approach to the game is like drafting John Wall and making him play power forward.

If the Redskins would use him like his rookie year, they could easily be a playoff team. Like this? I predict 4-12.

Kirk Cousins is terrbile and there really shouldn't be a discussion of who is better. RGIII, unfortunately, isn't a long term solution at qb. He is a crutch qb who needs his legs to be successful. His rookie year the threat to run opened up windows that just aren't there anymore. He needs to learn to be an effective pocket passer because he won't last running like he did in 2012. I've never seen any player take the hits that he does. From what i've seen I don't think he will ever be very good as a somewhat convential pocket passer. Lack of awareness is glaring. Luck, Tannehill, Newton, Wilson and Bridgewater are the only young qb's worth building a team around.
