More or less - 7 innings, 5 runs, 8 hits, 4 walks, 111 pitiches, and 7 strikeouts. Pujols took him deep in the 1st with no one on.

Personally I never bet big name pitchers like Johnson as huge favorites. I know there are times when laying the wood is worth it, but not for me. btw. The Diamondbacks tied this game up at 5-5.

Hard to say, a lot of good pitchers are going to get banged around by this Cardinal lineup this season.

2 or three years? I'snt he 41? He is down 5 mph and last year lefties hit over .300 against him. I think this year will be his last

I am afraid the D-Backs are finished for the year. Brenly is on the griddle. Johnson was washed up last year. It was a good confidence builder to tell Randy he was tipping his pitchers to explain away his bad season last year. They are probably telling Randy the hitters are leaning over the plate so you will probably see a bench clearing brawl in Randy's next start after he beans an opposing hitter.

I am guessing he is hoping to get traded for one last pennant run this year. I can't see the Colangelos keeping this team together, it is really just a continuation of the necessary breakup that people were talking about even as they were winning the Series. Maybe he is doing Jerry a favor by sticking around and giving the team a chance to get something of value around trade deadline and getting some other franchise to pay off the rest of his contract.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

Interesting start to the season ...

Mussina, Johnson & Pedro looking very ordinary IMO.

Maybe the torch is getting passed to guys like Wood, Prior, Beckett, Vasquez?

Sorry but Pedro is 1-1 pitcihing 13.2 innings with 12 strikeouts, 3 walks, and ERA of 1.98. Yielding 11 hits (2 homers) and 4 total runs (3 earned), with opponets hitting .220 against him. Ordinary - NOT.

Yep! I've watched everyone of his starts. He has a dead arm. Velocity is no longer there. All he has is his slider and that is hit and miss. No change up. When he throws his fastball over the plate, he is an easy sitting duck for the long ball. Gave up a 3 run homer to a pitcher last start. He is a definite play against.

I think his great years are behind him now.........at best he's just an average pitcher now.
