at the risk of pissing some people off, I will take it a step further....a few things many consider a sport, that I do not....for years I debated what the requirements were for something to be a sport and I think I have come to the correct conclusion. To be considered a sport, you need it to have a "playing object' such as a ball/puck AND a defense. So that leaves out wrestling and car racing. Golf is tricky because my first response would be that it is not a sport, but perhaps we can count the holes as the defense? Seems like a stretch though. Please spare me the talk about how difficult it is to win a NASCAR race or "let's see you beat Hulk Hogan in a wrestling match" etc.....Because I cannot do something or just because something is difficult, does not make it a sport...most people that argue with me, the only argument they have is "let's see you do it"....I cannot fix my bathroom plumbing, but that don't make plumbers athletes!
I disagree because running/racing is probably the worlds first sport and there is no playing object or defense. I would say anything that requires physical activity and has a non-predetermined winner and loser can be considered a sport. To be considered a sport, you need it to have a "playing object' such as a ball/puck AND a defense.
well no, you called it a sport (running) but that does not make it a sport...and your definition of a sport does not work either...are you really going to tell me that a cheer leading competition is a sport?I disagree because running/racing is probably the worlds first sport and there is no playing object or defense. Cheerleading LOL that's a good pointwell no, you called it a sport (running) but that does not make it a sport...and your definition of a sport does not work either...are you really going to tell me that a cheer leading competition is a sport?
Bourn, but it is scripted, don't think that would fit in there because there is no actual competition. In addition, with some thought, I'm confident I could come up with a list of things that would fit into that definition that you would agree are not a sportBy definition yeah
