Not as flashy as Crosby or Ovi, but hard to argue with what he's done in the playoffs in his career.

Always seems to come up big. And he does everything on the ice.

Thoughts?

Yes, but coming from another Chicago guy may be a bit biased, but no doubt what he has done at his young age is pretty dam impressive!

That's why I started the thread. I think yes, but I know I'm biased. So was curious for unbiased opinions. :toast:

He is not the best player. He may be the best leader, much like Messier was in his prime.

He is a great player and deserves the C. However, he becomes the highest paid player in the NHL next year and first over 10 million a year.

Modern Day Yzerman.

Very good way of putting it.

Toews is good, real good.

Actually, I really thought Ovechkin was the best player this playoffs.

O.V. is a faster skater, harder shot, and runs people over when you compare him to Toews.

However, two major differences in their situation. Toews is a center while O.V. is a winger, and Chicago has a better team around Toews. Who plays defense on Washington? If we can't remember, well that's the point.

I think Chicago is going to win another Cup.

I'm a Leafs fan ( ... stop laughing), and from watching Tampa and Toronto play, given that they are in the same division, Tampa has a good team. The question is are they that good? I don't think so. We've also being watching Chicago for years too, and they still can skate and score. Tampa just does not have that much scoring power. Hell, I read a stat that Phil Kessel had more playoff goals than Steven Stamkos, now that's funny.

Just by that factor alone, more offensive from more players who have a touch around the net, Chicago should win. Tampa cannot play run and gun with Chicago, so they must play their style tight. However, Chicago is rather good at those tight games too.
