Totally forgot about Justin Timberlake. He's done surprisingly well in his movies roles. Here's my favorite scene from one of my favorite movies ever (Southland Tales).

I would say Will Smith, Frank Sinatra and Elvis are the top Musician/Actors

If we consider people who are mostly just pure singers (meaning not known for being a songwriter or for playing an instrument for anything other than mostly show) -- and I can't tell you how much I hate to say this -- Barbra Streisand is way, way ahead of everybody else. Two Oscars, eight Grammys, four Emmys.

Will Smith, Mark Wahlburg, Donnie Wahlburg, Ice Cube, Ice T Henry Rollins, Bette Midler, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake.

A lot of people broke into music first and then acting came through later but actors that became successful recording artists after being an established actor is far less common list.

Now if you are talking singer/dancer/actress/choreographer the list starts and ends with Ann Reinking. End of list.

Bill, got to meet her years ago at the opening of "Fosse". She is as classy as she is talented.

I meant actor AND musician...

Different scale of dollars in his day, but for "most successful actor/musician", it's Elvis with no one else even close

I would agree with Streisand, Will Smith, Sinatra and Elvis.

However, I have not seen one movie with Streisand. When was the last time she made a movie? Also, aren't Emmys for TV? Was she on a TV show before becoming a hollywood legend?

What movies has she made besides the 2 she won oscars for, that are known?

She won Best Actress in "Funny Girl" and Best Original Song for something from "The Way We Were." Nominated for Best Actress in "The Way We Were," Best Picture for "Prince of Tides" and Best Original Song for something from "The Mirror Has Two Faces." She's also won a Golden Globes for Best Director for "Yentl," which she also wrote.

Lately she's been in those "Meet the Parents/Focker" movies, which I hate.

"Funny Girl," "The Way We Were" and "Prince of Tides" were all extremely big pictures. Will Smith and Sinatra barely approached that level and Elvis was never an actor. He was just a good looking singer put in movies.

I believe her Emmys were for television specials.

I'd have to go with Will Smith hands down for the last 30 years, before that I'm to young to really know about Elvis, Sinatra, etc.

Will Smith was a legit music star in rap and pop. Then became a legit movie star. Has some decent range too. Can play action, comedy and dramatic roles. Almost forgot he was a TV star as well with Fresh Prince of Bell Air.

Trim that timeframe down to the last 15 or 20 years and I may very well agree with you. During the '80s and on into the early '90s I think Cher gets the nod.
