I apologize if this is being talked about all over the place but it is the first time I heard of it today. I just dont get all into this crap we call the BCS, it's not worth the time and energy. If true what a crock of shit!!!

Each year you keep thinking it cant get any worse then the year before then BAM!!! It does!!! HAHAHAHA what a friggin joke. Isnt it so great with all these great title implication games going today, LOL. This makes the regular season so special, hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is one of these years the 2 undefeated teams are going to end up 1-2 and they are going to get it right and the supporters will be screaming loudly how they got it right. Please wake me up when this happens until then this stuff sucks!!!

The insanity of it all gives me a headache!!! It gets uglier every single year. Enough already this is retarded.

Could someone please come in here again and tell me why this current system is so great. Dont waste your time this thing speaks for itself. It is one huge mess and a joke. It is ruining college football.

Don't get me started.

There is an outside chance that OU could jump UT in the BCS with a win @ OSU today. That would put OU in the Big 12 title game against Missouri. If OU would win that game they would play for the title.

If OU loses today @ OSU then Texas Tech plays for the Big 12 title against Missouri and Texas could possible get left out b/c they don't get to play for the conference title.

Best case scenario OU wins ugly @ OSU, UT stays #2, beats Missouri again and plays the winner of the SEC title game for the title. That would be the easiest it could go with the fewest amount of headaches.

USC is chomping at the bit for something to happen that they can move up but then again you have a team playing for the National title that didn't even win their conference.

Oklahome will have had a better SEASON, thus they will play for the championship.......just like they should. Good chance they will lose today at OSU or to Missouri, so this is not an issue anyway.

The BCS is the greatest thing going in major sports to accurately claim a national champion.........except college wrestling, but most do not consider that a major sport outside the states of Iowa and Oklahoma.

They beat them on a neutral field however OU is claiming they beat Tech who beat Texas and therefor should get the nod. It's all politics now and will be interesting to see the coaches agendas when the final coaches poll votes are revealed and have an impact on the final BCS standings to see who plays in the Big 12 title game.

If OU jumps Texas with a win today in the BCS standings then OU gets to play for the Big 12 title. Tech with thier loss and dropping so far in the BCS has no shot to play for the Big 12 title unless OU loses. With the 3 way tie the BCS standings decide who plays for the conference title which is a little wierd IMO.

Another year and to think all the great poetential matchups we are missing out on AGAIN and all these games would be in do or die situations.

The handful of teams that a team would have to beat to be crowned champions would truly show greatness. A true test. The last team standing after a truly remarkable strecth of wins would define a champion and most importanly leave NO ONE arguing who the best team in football is.

One can only dream of the day but until then everyone please grab your pencils and ballots were going to tell america who the best team is based on a stupid system that is making another joke of itself again this year, now that is the way to crown a champion.:nohead:

according to the computer nerds it's not an outside chance, it's likely to happen. :cripwalk:

Why don't you watch the NUMEROUS do or die games EVERY week during the season instead of just wagering on them????

One thing to keep in mind. It was the Big 12 Conference that decided to allow the BCS standings to determine the representative in the event of a tie, regardless of head to head results. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Does the best team always win the Superbowl? No...and who cares?
The NCAA tournament is way better than the BCS crap.

Exactly!!

The NFL playoffs are not near as effiecient as the BCS......... and the NCAA wrestling tournament is awesome and is better than the BCS, although not way better as you suggest.

The BCS standings are about the fifth tie-breaker; H2H results take priority.

BCS is boring as hell. Heck, why even play a championship if you want the best team...just look at the regular season.
NCAA Basketball Tournament if the best. Lesser teams would have virtually no chance to get exposure and improve their programs in basketball if not for the NCAA Tournament....Gonzaga, for one, would be nobodies if not for the NCAA tournament.

Regardless of head to head results ? What are you smoking ? It is a fact that there is no possible way to consider head to head results in the event of a 3 way tie that has caused the big 12 to go to the highest BCS standings. The big 12 uses the head to head results to settle any tiebreaker but you tell us how head to head can decide the big 12 South winner in the present 3 way tie !

Fish, you have become totally ridiculous in your BCS chatter. Tell Texas or Oklahoma how great this stupid system is ! Tell Auburn a few years ago or Oregon a few years back or explain how 2 loss LSU is last years so called National Champion. Money wise I don't mind as I try to think far ahead and that is why I'm in great shape to cash once again but to say it's a great system is just plain naive and runs counter to the vast majority of knowledgeable fans, coaches and commentators.

The real farce is IOwa, Texas, and TT all have something in common - they will all play in meaningless bowl games.
