Supposedly he on Denver for 10.4M. Saw a few times in the RX that he bet a few games here and there, but this is the most I've heard him bet all season. Guess he qualifies as public!

It is true according to this article
[h=1]Floyd Mayweather Jr Bets $10 Million On Denver Broncos To Win Super Bowl?[/h]by Michael West | 28 January 2014
Floyd Mayweather really, really thinks the Denver Broncos will win the Super Bowl.

Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to outrageous shows of wealth, but it seems the greatest boxer on the planet has outdone himself again. According to the Vegas Gambling Stream Twitter, Mayweather has placed a $10.4 million bet on the Denver Broncos to beat the Seattle Seahawks by more than two points in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Floyd can afford it according to his article
#1 Floyd Mayweather

Total earnings: $85 million
Salary/winnings: $85 million
Endorsements: $0

“Money” Mayweather is the world’s highest-paid athlete, thanks to mega paydays
for fights against Victor Ortiz ($40 million) and Miguel Cotto ($45 million).
He has been a part of the four biggest non-heavyweight pay-per-view events in
boxing's history. Mayweather maximizes his earnings by also acting as his own
fight promoter through his company Mayweather Promotions.

I checked out most of the vegas shops and didn't see any line movement. Would you think that the line would move with that amount of $$??

highly doubt it. he's just a beard for a few pros and they wouldn't be wanting his/their pick out there. He used to be such a public square. Favorites and overs, fav's and overs. All of a sudden, he starts getting down on dogs and unders. Hmmmm. Which is because someone(s) got to him, just like they did with various Hollywood celebrities in their prime, i.e. Ashton Kutcher.

one random tweet and this mayhem happens.

Just found this article...

So the question remains – is it legit?

On one side it does make some sense considering Floyd is a heavy better (he won $50,000 on a Sugar Bowl bet) but $10.4 million dollars is a lot for anybody – even Mayweather.
That’s why a recent report from Terez Owens suggesting the bet was not placed seems to hold some weight.
We have confirmation direct from the Money Team that he hasn’t even bet on the game yet. These rumors are always started to shake up the books. As soon as we find out what Floyd’s actual bet is, we’ll try to post.
Assuming it’s not true, it should be interesting to see what Mayweather does actually bet on the big game.

Saw here at the RX that money bet was
DEN 4.2 M - 70%
SEA 1.8 M - 30%

A 10.4 DEN bet would make it 89% of the money on DEN. Would think that line would jump to +4 / +4.5 SEA to try and get some money on them. If DEN would cover, definitively be BLACK SUNDAY in Vegas.

The whole take last year was about $98 million. Doubt he is going to be 10% of Vegas action

No, it isn't true.

Setting aside for a moment what others have suggested regarding the amount of $ typically on the game and any subsequent line moves, just think of it from a bankroll perspective.

Say that Money Mayweather made $100 million last year (I am not so sure he did). Do you really think he'd put 1/10th of his yearly income on 1 game?

No way.

While I agree with you that he didn't bet 10 Mil...I do think he bet a big bunch. Small favs seem to be his thing.

He should of bet ML...DEN 28-27 would piss him off!

I embarrassed to say I bet the same bet as him...wish I was fading.

As far as being too smart...he is a sharp guy...brilliant fighter and showman...but his ego is bigger than big.
