He did not try to miss it purposely. The degree of difficulty was very high for each and every one of his dunk attempts.

Not on purpose, but both of them seemed less interested in securing a win than in doing what they wanted. A big THANKS to JRich though as I had Jones +500.

Wouldn't be suprised if he missed it on purpose. After he failed 3-4 times on that one dunk he didn't want to continue, but they basically made him dunk again since they weren't official attempts. It looked as if though he felt he didn't deserve to win after he continually missed that dunk and after that just mailed it in.

The contest was such a joke. They kept giving Jones 50 for unimpressive lobs to himself. They were the same type dunks you see 5'11' white boys at playgrounds trying all the time. Since they can't palm the ball they try lobbing it up then dunking it.
They gave Jones a 50 for his first dunk and it was the worst of the first round. Then he couldnt even complete the last dunk with some wannabee lobbing it from the stands.

Come on! I'm sure the endorsements and exposure that Richardson would get from winning the contest far outweigh the risk/benefit of tanking the contest.

Why is it that whenever someone misses a shot, throws a bad pass, strikes out, or just screw up in a pressure situation, I see posts in here like this. You need to realize that not everyone in the sportsworld sits at their computer and gambles like you do and sometimes a professional or collegiate athlete just doesn't make the play. Get over it and move on. There's another game tomorrow.
