Do you think it is legal for the NFL to keep players out of the league until their junior year in college?

Who knows. The Law is so jacked up these days you pretty much can make an arguement for anything.

I can't see how it wouldn't be. They are universal in their application of it. No discrimination or anything like that. It's a private company, they should be able to set their policies as they see fit.

I would like to see someone challenge it in court just to piss off Paul Tagliabue. I don't think the NFL's rule would hold up in court. I think a sharp lawyer could probably find a way to beat the NFL. Maybe approach it from the "restraint of trade" angle?

This could be beaten with a lawyer straight out of law school. What legal basis could they have? The NBA used to have an unspoken one, but then they eventually gave up. What the NFL could do is secretly avoid drafting a guy to sort of put out a lesson, but they might get caught on it or eventually one team won't go along and the others will get screwed.

18 year olds do not belong in the NFL. We are talking grown fully developed men here in the NFL and some of these kids would likely get killed if we allowed them all.

Another hilarious argument.
An 18 year old can die fighting for his country--but can't buy alcohol!!

The NFL--may have their own lawyers.
Forget judges--the constitution is laughable anymore--when it's interrupertued by people with different opinions!

18 year olds are not developed like 35 yr old men who are the biggest and baddest and been in the nfl trenches for years. This is opinion, but I would not want my Son @ 18 playing in the NFL.
