Is Illinois undervalued right now?

This is not a team many pay attention to but I think there is some value with them this week.

They lost to a very good Mizzou team and on the road against Penn St. so clearly they aren't in the top 25. Their defense is still the biggest problem but they did look a little better last week holding a weak Mich. offense to 6 points in the filnal 3 quarters.

Juice Williams is becoming impossible to stop now that he's throwing the ball great this year. Running back Daniel Dufrane looks like a quicker Reshard Mendenhall. Big play receivers all over the field.

Now you have the homecoming game against a Gopher team that looked great at home last week but too bad they were playing one of the worst teams in the country. I do not see the Illinois offense scoring under 50 points this week. Oh, did I mention the Illini are only giving up 11.5 to the Gophers?

Don't take them if your scared of a let down but I think is a play for me. Will probably be on the over as well. Let me know your thoughts...

Not big on big homecoming favorites, but I am surprised it is only 11.5. Minnesota has improved greatly on defense, but this is a test for them. I will have to see a total as Minn only missed the over by 42 last week.

to be honest, I think there's a good chance they don't lose another game the rest of the season. Although the Iowa game would scare me following a win in Camp-Randle.

Minnesota's defense has not played a good offensive team YTD. They looked good last week because to beat Indiana you just shut down Lewis and they have no other threats. I don't see any way they slow down the Illini offense. Minnesota is better than last year but they are not as good as their record indicates. Aside from Indiana they are the worst team in the Big Ten.

I completely agree with you....if the same OSU and Wisconsin offenses keep showing up week to week I really don't think they will be able to beat Illinois. The way the Illini offense is flowing now with Benn, Juice, and Dufrene all getting creative touches throughout the game...not to mention a stable of other skill players....they are going to be TOUGH to beat.

Don't really see OSU or Wisconsin putting up 30 plus on them even though they do have a weak defense....and the Illini can score in bunches with their big playmakers.

i think they are way over rated. i would not be surprised if they lost 2 or 3 of those games. This week i'll play them in a 3 team teaser . Minny is pretty bad and Ill should hit 34-41 points..BUT..............

They barely beat LA-LAFAYETTE at home by 3 as a 25 point fav.

that was an ugly game but from what I understand the wind was blowing about 30 miles per hour and it was impossible to throw the ball. Was a great spot for the Cajun's since all they do is run. Very bad game for the Illini none the less. I guess we will find out but I think at home they will be unlike any team Minny has faced. Again I just like the match-up here, I highly doubt the Illini win out.

Minn's D is only improved against junk teams. They did not look good at all against a very pedestrian OSU offense. Consider that OSU scored the most points against them of any FBS school on their schedule.

Illinois D is suspect as well, yes they shut down Michigan for 3 quarters, but that is not saying a damn thing. The fact that Michigan did move the ball against them at will in the 1st quarter is troubling.

I think the over is the right play here, but would def lean Ill if you put a gun to my head.

I can tell you that Illinois defense is garbage, so I think Minnesta will put up some points on them. May be a good spot for an over play

As a Buckeye fan, Minnesota has not faced an offense close to what they are going to see this weekend.

Illinois will only need to shut down Decker in order to win this game. He is the only game breaker that Minny has. Also, I look for Weber to run more this year.

PS
If OSU doesn't score 30+, they will not beat Illinios.

While I would agree with the assessment of the Illini D. Minny stuggled to score vs Indiana and that D made MSU looked good on offense.
