Jordan did not have a great supporting cast. The guy won 3 titles with Cartwright, Grant, Pippen, Paxson, Armstrong, Scott Williams then 3 more with Longley, Rodman, Pippen, Harper, Kukoc, Kerr. The fact that he won 3 each with very different teams is incredible. He had decent players around him but they played great due to Jordan imposing his will on the team from training camp day 1 - especially on defense. Everybody on the team was better because of him.

Could MJ win titles with Kobe's teammates around him and Phil coaching? Hard to say but I would bet a lot of money that they would blow this undermanned Phoenix team away.

Ask Dominique Wilkins how far talent alone will get you. Kobe should be thanking Shaq every night before bed for those three rings.

I think if you compare skills of Kobe and Lebron and a few other players to Jordan, I think they are just as skilled or better then he was. The problem is they don't have that work ethic or drive to win like Jordan did. I think Lebron has a chance to be the player Jordan was but not Kobe. He is too much of an arrogant prick. Maybe Phil Jackson will be able to convince him to be more of a team player, it looks like he's starting to trust his teammates in the postseason. I think when Lebron retires everybody will be saying he was the best player of all time.

They had good teams - good enough to take the Rockets in their prime to 7 games. And in case you didn't realize it, Hakeem was in the league for all 6 of the Bulls titles.

In all seriousness, Jordan I think has had more individual and team accomplishments than any other player in NBA history. Plus he won a gold medal a couple times and an NCAA championship. 2 things Kobe wont ever do.

Does Kobe score in bunches, make tough shots, make his team better soar through the air and all this stuff seemingly at will most of the time? You bet.

But can Kobe take guys like Kerr, Paxson, cartright on his last legs and B.J. Armstrong and make them look like studs? All while winning defensive titles, MVP, scoring titles, learning to play the point becuase thats what it took at times for the Bulls to win? Can Kobe do those things?!
