noticed them #18 I think, without their coach and one of their top WR's, how long can this last?

I thought I read where their top 4 WRs were gone. Is that wrong?

ATP, I've seen about a dozen pre-season top 25's and Hawaii wasn't in any of em. Where did you see that?

They probably aren't even a top 3 team in the WAC.

You might have seen them ranked 118 out of the 120 division 1 teams. They are going to be terrible this year.

That #18 ranking must have been from some list that referred to last year.

Top 50 seems right. Anything Steele publishes I can live with. I would imagine Hawaii's offense will still put up some points, but nothing like last year.....

June Jones was such an enigma at Hawaii it seems strange that he will not be there anymore. Who can tell how good Hawaii will be without him? The cupboard is not bare and there are some strengths left in this team, but it still has to chalked up as a rebuilding year losing your best QB, WRs and head coach. Also, the secondary is a question mark for the defense.

All I know at this point is that the opener against Florida is going to be a massacre in my opinion.

Hawaii will probably end up between 3 and 6 depending on how well the offense does. The linebacking crew is pretty solid and they got a oregon transfer at cb (word is he's pretty solid).

The question mark on how well they do will depend on how Fresno does (seems to play down to the competition) and if Nevada and San Jose brings their "A" game.

But however they do, I just can't wait for the season to start.

gl guys.

If UF is favored by aless than anything less than 45 I will make them a 10 unit play.

You might be thinking right Pete but in case you haven't heard, Hawaii returns more of their defense than anything and it's also been bolstered by some decent transfers and JC's. They will be relying on it this year more than any other time I can remember. That might sound a little strange but there are a few teams out this way that will be doing a D/O or O/D flip flop this season. I think Hawaii could be one of them, at least to a point. I doubt that you will be laying more than 5 TD's just the same.

GREAT!!! Bring on that big bad Bow defense. Once you've played Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee and LSU's defense, Hawaii will look like poy.

Hawaii will be playing further from home than they ever have....and trust me, Gainesville in September is going to melt those guys. I don't give a shit how hot they think they've been before, they will be amazed at the heat index in the Swamp. The main problem with Hawaii over the years is that they have NO DEPTH. That is not something you want to experience against Florida....in September. Hell, I predict that UF outscores Hawaii by 35 points in the second half!!

After seeing how Georgia took apart a much better Hawaii team in the Sugar Bowl 41-10, I would have to agree..I don't see this game being close...If the jet lag don't get'em, the Swamp will..

You might be right on this one, with the humidity, the distance and not to mention the embarassment at the sugar bowl, and they still need to prove that they can play with the SEC. If I learned anything about sports betting is that the obivious never plays how you wish it would.

I think this will end up being a public play and if the books are laying that much points. That would be too much to lay, especially with the back door being left open.

I really don't think Hawaii will lay on their back and let florida run up the score, especially with a defensive guru like mac (ex miami dc), who is good at making defensive adjustments. There are a lot of question marks about the offensive side, but with a more balance attack I think they will fair better than last year's offense and not have many 3 and out like what happen at the sugar bowl.

I'll wait and see what happens with the line. gl to you pete, by the sounds of it, we'll probably be on the opposite side.
