They just interviewed the Twins fan that caught Frank Thomas 500 homerun ball.

The fan gave the ball to a white sox representive in exchange for a signed Frank Thomas signed ball, bat and jersey and maybe a photo op with Frank after the game but that will be up to Frank they said.

I would have put it on ebay, isnt Thomas suppose to be a jerk?

I have seen Thomas sign countless autographs. He is moody, but basically a good guy. Took a few hits in the Chicago media in the past (many not deserved). The Steroid Era really lessened this story. Should be a far bigger story.

Too bad, the fan just got F'ed, big time. I would have got on my cell, got some security, had someone from the team/league certify the ball and got the hell out of there with it.
Then, be patient and take my chances at marketing it. Just my .02

A LEAST no ** needed with his guy.

Loved watching every at bat back in the day with this guy, I'd stop what I was doing. Can't say that about too many out there (this was from about 92-96 BTW).

No way, you have to double that estimate at least..

Eddie Murray's 500th went for $280,000 at auction in 1999 and then a Baltimore buisnessman bought it for $500,000 in 2006.

I can't see their value being that much of a difference (30-50k compared to 500k).

I'd say he would have at least got low/borderline six figures off of it. What a fucking moron.

That ball was purchased by none other than Scamdicapper Mike Warren who later stiffed the guy , he purchased the ball, but was to pay in installments over several years...

I'm not sure what ever happened to the ball after Warren stiffed him, which was on display at the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore....

Warren also was founder of The Psychic Friends Newtork and filed for bankruptcy at some point (that was when it was announced he would not be paying for the ball)...he made several million dollars with his horse racing and football picks as well as his bogus psychic friends network 900 # scam.

Props to big Frank, I don't believe he ever used...he earned his 500.

You could tell in his press conference he wanted to point out he never used, and is probably already thinking he will be lumped with the rest and will be kept from the HOF.
