Actually Fitzgerald does not have blazing speed. But he knows how to get open, has tremendous hands and body control, and knows what to do with the ball after he catches it. I'll bet his yards after the catch rank right near the top. And as someone already mentioned, he goes vertical to get the ball in coverage as well as anyone in the game.
(Kudos to Santonio Holmes yesterday too for his exceptional TD run. I bet against him. That rat.).
Randy Moss has seen his best days.
Terrell Owens drops way too many passes to make my list even without his antics. His antics completely eliminate him from consideration. No matter how good you judge him to be he's a team buster.
Andre Johnson is a great fantasy football player but I would be hard pressed to critique him 'cause I never get to see him play.
Wes Welker is a great posession receiver and tough as nails for a little guy. But he doesn't do much with the ball after the catch.
As much as I disdain Plaxico he needs to be in this discussion.
Steve Smith is tough, not that fast, but a real gamer once he gets his hands on the ball.
Hines Ward is similar but has also seen his best days.
Boldin, is tough, has pretty good hands, and also can gain yardage after the catch. But after his sideline antics yesterday WITH THE OC WHILE ARIZONA WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THEIR MOST IMPORTANT DRIVE OF THE GAME AND THE OC IS TRYING TO CALL PLAYS, I wouldn't want him on my team. He could have cost his team a chance to get to the Big Game. That scene was ridiculous. I'd trade his ass outa there in the offseason.
Haven't seen enough of Marshall.
Same with Calvin Johnson.
Reggie Wayne is solid but I think his QB helps him alot.
I like Greg Jennings too.
Other guys who make it to at least Honorable Mention: Roddy White, Antonio Bryant, and TJ Housh.
Larry Fitz gets my #1 vote. Complete receiver with a good attitude.
