Is Iowa HC Keith Ferentz on the Hot Seat? Most think not because he has a contract that expires in 2020, but he still has major problems. According to stats revealed by CBS, Iowa is a rather "who cares" 34-31 since 2010 and 19-21 against Big 10 competition. They have also lost 3 out of their past 4 games with Iowa State. A private poll of Iowa football fans found that only 46% approve of Ferentz job, compared to 60% a year ago. Worse that that is the drop in season ticket sales, down to about 38.000 last season after a high of 40,000 just three years ago. This season will no doubt see that trend continue because of a terrible home schedule that fails to include both Wisconsin and Nebraska. Another sub par season for Iowa and the buyout rumors will become hot and numerous.

He was one of the hottest coaches in the country about 6-7 years ago. I should have bolted for greener pastures while the gettin' was good. Dan Mullen is a perfect example. Why he's staying at Miss State is beyond me. He could have landed at a number of jobs over the last 3 years and has stayed in that shit hole of a town. Ferentz had his run there at Iowa, now he's hanging on for his job.

Greg Davis is a sub-par OC. Some great college qbs created a misperception. Bielema might go there, but theyd have a hefty buyout for BB plus 2 million a year to not keep KF. Ark and Iowa have similar salaries, just distributed differently. I think they could pull it off, might be tight for a while. Iowa's just barely in the black.

Regarding Greg Davis...I'll take it a step further...........

I don't think Davis is a good OC at all. He hooked on to Mack Brown's coattails at Tulane, North Carolina and Texas. Matter of fact he replaced Brown as head coach at Tulane when Mack left for North Carolina. Davis was fired after going 14-31, then after a couple of stops hooked up with Brown again.

He certainly took a pay cut coming from Texas to Iowa.

I found myself typing horrible as the adjective, but then upon self-reflection, I didn't want to come off like another certain poster.
