The Clippers think they are so much better than they are. wHOLE SITUATION IS A JOKE. i MEAN, PUTTING FURNITURE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. As if Mark Cuban is going to break in. These peoples net worth in this is about 25 billion. I hope Cuban just has someone take him out. Just break his legs. That is what more owners should do. Force the team to pay him 22 million a year for a 7 foot ugly gimp. Of course, this is the millenial generation. Phones don't exist to talk. That is what twitter and emoji's are for. And whatever a "bae" is.

Jordan showed a little of his immaturity in this whole debacle. He did not need to choose any time until he was fully ready, by committing and not letting Dallas know about it hurts Dallas even more cause they were trying to build around him than replace him. Oh well, lets see if Clippers get their championship and lets see who Dallas get in the draft because I am pretty sure they will be tanking.

Cuban should sue him.
I always learned that a verbal agreement was a binding agreement. But maybe the league is superior and not held to those torts.

And on top of it all, Cuban already said before this that if they didn't get Jordan, he said they were going to tank which makes sense because unless they pick in the top 7 next season, they lose their draft pick to Boston. So they could literally not have a center that could score more than 2 point per game on their roster next year. Would be great if Cuban forfeited games and went 0-82 and instructed every player to go at Jordan's knee at every chance. When he jumps just grab him and slam him to the court. All the guy does is dunk anyway. He wants to be part of the offense; get some offensive talent

Would have no case whatsoever. Agreements can't be finalized during the moratorium period

ya. i'm not familiar with the whole moratorium thing. I just know a verbal agreement is binding. So the moratorium must supercede the civil court.

In theory, you cannot commit during the moratorium. You can discuss terms but there are no "agreements". This is from the CBA

Except as permitted in the next sentence, notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, no player and Team may enter into any oral or written agreement concerning terms and conditions of the player's employment, or reduce any such agreement to writing in the form of a Uniform Player Contract or amendment, during the Moratorium Period. The following shall be permitted during the Moratorium Period: (i) a player may accept any Required Tender, Qualifying Offer, or "Maximum Qualifying Offer" (as defined in Article XI, Section 4(a)(ii)) that is outstanding; (ii) a player and a Team may negotiate over the terms and conditions of a Player Contract or Offer Sheet that may be entered into following the conclusion of the Moratorium Period; (iii) a First Round Pick and the Team that holds his draft rights may enter into a Rookie Scale Contract; and (iv) a player and a Team may enter into a Player Contract, not to exceed two (2) Seasons in length, that provides for a Salary for each Salary Cap Year equal to the Minimum Player Salary applicable to the player (with no bonuses of any kind).

Celts own the Mavs 1st rd pick top 7 protected FWIW...Decent chance that is in the 8-12ish range

Probably gonna steal a player with that pick thats a cross between MJ and Shaq and alter history forever

Would be quite a coup for the Celtics. That said, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the Mavs going into full tank mode by telling Chandler Parsons and Wes Matthews to take their time coming back from their respective injuries/surgeries. I wouldn't be surprised if those two combine for about 80 games missed. If they go that route, this Mavs team is probably headed for a top 7 pick.

On a seperate tanking note, it is likely the Sixers will have 3 lottery picks next year. One of them is top 3 protected I think

They have their pick as well as the Lakers (top 3 protected), Heat (top 10 protected), Thunder (Lotto protected) picks. Heat and Thunder won't be lotto teams.
