Only a 7 point favorite over a Tech team that has lost 3 straight games? Shouldn't this be between a 14-17 point spread?

My 2 cents:

Georgia tech decimated by injuries. Lost quite a bit to nfl too and Johnson relies more on player development than recruiting. I agree with Shot doc in that I do not think Clemson will have a "let down." That's the positive of the rah rah coaching staff with dabo and venables. I am not too sure about hiding the plays in the play book though. The one criticism of chad morris was that he would not stay committed to run and was in love with taking so many downfield shots a game. With mike williams out (and his replacement charone peake the biggest pussy ever when it comes to competing for balls hence at least two of watson's interceptions), and the new co-OC's commitment to run (before season they said they were going to simplify offense and committ to run), they will stay a little vanilla. The defense is way ahead of what most national analysts thought after we lost so much to nfl and the staff is content with running the ball and winning closer than they should be games. I wouldn't bet on this game as I think there's a good chance Clemson could be up by 14-17 comfortably and g tech could score late--like they did vs notre dame and that the game will fall right around the number--but no real value.

The only concern I have about Clemson is they don't have the depth they had last year and it showed in the fourth quarter as the defense was spent. If they can't get Tech off the field quickly and win the time of possession battle then I could see a big late game push by Tech. But I'm not sure they have enough defense to keep it close enough until then. But one thing for sure they won't have a let down as long as Dabo is there because he finds everything possible from the media to use as motivation.

I love GT. They can run the ball on anybody and be able to cover vs. Clemson. I still do not think Notre Dame is that good.

I remember years back....late 90's, early 2000's.....
In 10 Straight Games Between These 2 Teams, 9 were decided by 3 points every year, except for 1!

But with that being said, DeShaun Watson & The Tigers Have REVENGE On Their Minds After Last Season's Early Game Injury & Loss In Atlanta! And This One Is In Death Valley & Ga Tech Has Lost 3 Straight!
I Lean Clemson, But OVER May Very Well Be The Best Play Here!

CLEMSON 41.....GA TECH 31

If you look at it, GT did rally against a tough ND team at Notre Dame. Clemson coming off a big win, with expected Tstorms suggest more of a running game again. Gt has faced Clemson quite a bit. Think the spread maybe correct.

I think the sucker bet is Georgia. 84% of the bets on Georgia, open at -2.5 and only move -3.

I can't remember the last time I showed line value on Clemson, but I am this week. If for some reason it drops below 7 I'll scoop some up.

I'm leaning to Clemson myself. Majority of peeps are on Georgia Tech, and I understand the historical records between these two teams show how close the games have previously been. However, this season, I've seen GT get handled the last 3 games.

My gut says Clemson is for real this season and will thump Georgia Tech by 10 to 14 points. I'm probably wrong. #%()

i get what your saying but you do realize they sat back in prevent mode right? You realize when it came down to a stop they got the stop right?

history says this is a close spread 20-6 underdogs in the last 26 games. But Venables has been the key against GT as of late. Since he arrived, GT at Death Valley is 0-2 ATS. Last year Clemson's defense held GT to the lowest yardage and points total of their season. Cole(DW4 went down) spotted them 14 points. IMO, Venables is the key to Clemson covering at home against GT. I agree they are a dangerous 2-3 team but Clemson is a dangerous 4-0 team at home.

One thing Clemson has going for it, is the defense has already faced a triple option team: Wofford in week 1. It's a different caliber of athlete, but at least the young D had the discipline to play their assignments. At one point, Clemson had 18 first downs to 0 for Wofford. I am concerned about a letdown, however.

Thinking Tigers run away in this one. Owning line of scrimmage early!
