Guess he never heard the saying, " You can Never go Back "

and what happens in College, is NOT the same as the NFL

He is definitely a smart coach

Might not be the smartest personel guy but nothing wrong with wanting to shop for the groceries if you are the 1 who has to cook the meal.

Steve Spurrier was a great coach that tried to build around what he did in Florida. It was a huge failure as everyone knows. What a coach does in college never transitions well to the pro game but many still try.

All of Chip Kelley's running backs were dynamic at Oregon and never saw the field in the NFL. Running backs are so ridiculously replaceable.

Chip Kelly is a nobody at the moment.....Only a head coach for 6 years.....4 with Oregon and 2 with the Eagles.

He`s trying to make a name for himself.

1st season with the Eagles he lost a playoff game at home to the Saints.

Last season no playoffs.

And he just traded away 1 of the best running backs in the NFL for a guy who is unproven and coming off a major ACL injury.

That is his 1st mistake....His 2nd mistake will be bringing in Marcus Mariota.....Another unproven player....LOL.

Nothing wrong with Nick Foles.

Unproven coach and unproven players is a bad recipe.

He clearly has demonstrated to be a superior coach when it comes to offense.

How could anyone even argue that.

I don't see the downside in this move. I'd rather pay Kiko Alonso $1.7 million over the next 2 years than pay a 27 year old RB $24 million over the next 3 years.

Steve Spurrier isn't 1/10th the Xs and Os coach that Chip Kelly is though

At least Spurrier has a championship.....Kelly has done nothing as a coach.

He is not getting Mariotta. Unless he is dumb enough to give away 6 #1's, 7 #2's, and 5 #3's.

Yeah, in general people are too results oriented when it comes to coaches. I don't really feel like defending Kelly too much if people aren't sold on him, but I do think he is 1 of the best offensive coaches in the league. Oregon's success and Phi's turnaround good evidence of that. Had a top offense both years with Foles/Sanchez/Vick at QB.

As far as McCoy goes, that is a good sell high probably. He is likely on the downside after 5 years of pretty heavy workload.

I would hope Spurrier would have at least 1 championship in over 30+ years of coaching..lol ...He had pretty much the best players at Fla...big failure in Washington... Chip has him beat in the NFL

If the whole 53 man roster was Ducks maybe its more of a issue...but it is less then 10 players

I'm not sure how well Kelly does going forward but the McCoy trade was genius IMO.

Well said.

You don't win in the NFL by overpaying aging RBs. It's simply not a valuable position. Adrian Peterson, widely regarded as the best RB in the game, has played in 4 playoff games in 7 years (8 seasons if you include last season), winning just 1 of them. They're better off freeing up the $7.5 million to pay Maclin and improve the defense.

Sproles did so much more for the team when he was on the field then McCoy did. I do not know how Kiko will work out for Eagles, but dumping the salary alone makes it a good trade. The eagles need so much help, they only have 1 starting DB on their roster. A lot of good rbs in the draft or free agency. Sign DeAngelo Williams or Ridley for 1/3 of McCoys salary and get better at other much needed positions.

I have noticed when hearing peoples opinions on the radio that the black guys hate this trade of course over valueing McCoy because they are all about "flash". These are the same people that always thought Michael Vick was good and the white guys get it. Understanding how the cap works and how replaceable running backs are. With all things being equal, the Eagles get 3 starters from this deal. With extra cap room, they could pay 2 players 5 million a year.

Here are some facts. Adrian Peterson has been the best back since he came in the leaugue and has won 1 playoff game and only made the playoffs 3 times. Lashaun McCoy has never won a playoff game. Jamal Charles has never won a playoff game.
