It looks to me like Jones needs to run off some players. He's signed 30+ every year he's been there....and he's got another great class coming in.

Now that they've found an above average QB (might be well above average when it's all said and done) they are contenders for the East. Remember, they had to replace their ENTIRE O-line and D-line.....the ENTIRE group. The SEC is said to be a "line of scrimmage league"....you can't win consistently w/ new starters along your ENTIRE line on BOTH sides of the ball.

My guess is they go 9-3 this year and possibly win the East. If they win in Gainesville they'll have a lot of momentum heading into the heart of their schedule.

My take CoachCB is Tennessee will be a tough out but not a challenge for the East.

CL, maybe so. But look at the East. Florida ain't winnin' it next year. SC was mediocre at best this year and they need a QB. UGA has to find a QB, but look to be the best in the East. And then you have Tennessee, who finished strong and return most of the team.

An OC will be easy to find. There is a ton of talented Offensive minds out there dying for a shot at a bigtime OC job.

Well, signing day is over. Either Alabama or USC (depending who you believe) ended up #1. The other was #2. Florida State was a solid #3. Then comes either Tennessee or Clemson at 4 and 5. That does not look like a bad signing day to me. With the SEC faltering, who knows who will win it all down there. Georgia looks tough in the East, thanks to a trememdous ground game. If they throw more than 10 passes per game, Richt should be fired. But Georgia always loses a game or two. South Carolina has seen better days. Florida still does not have enough talent to legitimately challenge. Missouri, as usual, is the great unknown. Who knows where Tennessee may end up?

Caused primarily by a revolving door of university Presidents that allowed one of the worst AD's in college athletics keep his job before he was run off. That AD is the one that was responsible for firing Fulmer mid season and the disastrous hirings of Kiffin and his band of thieves followed by the incompetent Dooley.

Given the $$$, facilities,fan support and tradition I'm betting Tennessee won't be an "also ran" for long. If anything, Oregon is more likely to become an "also ran" given the juggernaut USC is putting together now that sanctions are off, not to mention UCLA.

Most any objective college football fan would consider USC the bell cow of the Pac12. Oregon has had a nice run the last several years during a down time for USC, UCLA etc after catching lightning in a bottle with Chip Kelley and his innovative offensive scheme. Sooner or later the quality athletes USC and UCLA are able to attract will come to the top IMO.

Which team from the west coast was the last to win a national championship? I'm not going to research it but has Oregon ever won one?

Still not to many teams out there that can stack there record with the Ducks... Since you're keeping track some of our best teams were when USC had no excuses...When and if UCLA can beat Oregon we can talk.. Ducks are still getting good players into the system.....
