Gentlemen ,

Regarding the question wheather or not mybookie is safe we would like to tell you a little about us so you can make an informed decision regarding our company.

. Mybookie originally was formed in 1997 under the name of Grand Central Sports (gcsports.com) We took our first wager over the phone on Thanksgiving day 1998.

Since that time like most new businesses we have had our up's and downs with the worst being March -May 2002 where some of our clients unfortunately were "slow paid".

At the time however the organization was completely restructured and the focus changed to the "recreational" market .
Over the past several years we have enjoyed enormous success and growth in this sector , catering to an active client base of over 15,000 sports and casino players in the final quarter of this year alone.
Our combined handle is rapidly approaching the billion dollar mark and we are showing growth in all areas of our operations . We have recently hired well known bookmaker Rick M to handle our risk management and to insure our profitability from the sports betting side.

We now have our sites set on the online Poker market and plan to unveil a new poker product in June /July that will be sure to turn some heads .

Please feel free to join us for our VIP SuperBowl event in Las Vegas to be held at the "Whiskey" located inside the Green Valley Ranch. Simply open a mybookie.com account (no deposit required) and RSVP .

Hope to see you there !!!

Well that's all and great but you guys have taken well over a week to get neteller and firepay cashouts to me. That is completely unacceptable. You could be backed by the Queen of England but if your cashouts are slow it makes no difference.

So.. Mybookie is a decent book with good lines, but slow cashouts.

Stick with the long-established rock solid books like Olympic and let these other wannabe books wilt where they stand.....

It will save you the act of coming back to the forums to say that "they screwed me" or "thier customer service sucks" or "they won't pay me" and having some moderator go to bat for you to straighten out something that a top-class book never allows to happen in the first place.

Hypothetical question for you shrink.

Say you live in vegas and frequent the sportsbook at bally's. Everytime you want to cash a winning ticket the cashier tells you to come back in 5 days as that is the time to process your winning ticket. Now, you know that Bally's is one of the most secure and well backed companies in the country and your money is safe.

Would you still play there, or would you go across the street and play at another major sportsbook that is slightly smaller but pays immediately?

Baseball Guy,

Many people want to be paid immediately, but I would not mind waiting 5 days, so long as I knew the money was good. In fact, there are books that I use oiffshore that take a few days to get the money to me...

Personally, I'd go with whoever I liked more overall....

Customer Service and their lines and the 2 most essential elements I look for when betting with a sports book...

Gotcha.

These threads are great for the newbie bettor.

I think it is very important that a person knows what they are getting into and what to expect when they sign up with a particular book.

I am an extremely low limit player. I have accounts with Pinnacle, MyBookie, Olympic, and BoDog. I usually bet anywhere from $5 to $30 a game. I have played at MyBookie for about 6 weeks. Their lines are unbelievable. For example this weekend they have Pittsburgh +7; Jets +3 (-107); Packers +4 (-107); San Diego +7.5 (-105); Chicago +7. However you will not see these lines unless you log into your account. The lines on the board are the same as other books. I think they deal different lines depending on your play. I always bet underdogs at MY Bookie because the lines, in my account at least, are always higher than all of the other books. I have a feeling these lines would change, for the worse, if I was betting big amounts on these games. But for me and my low limits MyBookie is an excellent book.

If you troll around the forums long enough you will be able to separate the good books from the shaky ones, just factor into the equation that there is sponsor/advertising bias involved.

If I had to go onto a forum to ask whether or not I could trust an out, I simply wouldn't start an account at that book.

There's enough positive feedback on strong, established books that are the bedrock of the sports gambling world that there is no need to take a chance and run into a fly-by-night book.

...lost of books? A Freudian slip perhaps?
