Since the intervention of the shot clock, the slam dunk, and the 3-point line..........coupled with the NBA taking all the talent out of the high schools..................find it very hard anymore to even get remotely enthusiastic about it.
In the late 70's and early 80's is was a terrific game!
ps- Also, the 65 tournament field has dismissed the importance even more so of the regular season. Hell, if you finish 7th or 8th in the BIG TEN you can gain a berth in the tournament.
The college game is a small fraction of what it used to be to this innocent observer................and for that I am very sad.

I do catch a few games here and there during the season and do plunk down a couple bets here and there, but very rare.
Maybe with the NHL on strike this year, I will catch a few more games than usual and draw up some opinions on a few games down the road.
ps- But you are right, the wiseguys make a nice living the first few weeks of the college season...........not me unfortunately.

By the way, coming from Iowa, I have followed many small conference teams and many major conference teams.........and still do, but just do not watch or attend much anymore.
Iowa is very much like Indiana in that the state is basketball crazy........both boys and girls...........college and high school.
ps- Poster WORLDRUNNER is a diehard Drake Bulldog fan and they play in a great new little arena.
pss- The word out of Iowa is that IOWA STATE could have a very very good club and may be a team to pounce on early.

college hoops isnt worth picking up until january IMO
the first 2 months of college hoops have to bow down to the first two months of NBA simply becuase the info is more readily available there. along with everything fish mentioned, youngsters are more ripe for the corrupting becuase they dont make money like the NBA'ers
when you approach march madness, that is the time to pick it up the data on all the teams is in
