Imho

Ladainian Tomlinson probably comes closest but he seems to have peaked early even for a great RB and he is no Barry Sanders at any rate. Injuries the mortal enemy of all running backs have taken there toll on LT.

Honorable mention but a long way from Sanders - Clinton Portis.

Adrian Peterson has the potential to be a really great one but he has only played 30 NFL games, so the jury is still out before I can call him better than even Tomlinson.

One more season like the one he just had and yeah he is the most exciting RB since Barry.

Right Fully, I just mean as in "excitement".

We all know nobody matches Barry, but since he's retired, there really hasn't been too many players to put on highlight shows as he did each & every week.......

I hear ya.. Very tough shoes to fill. I guess I'd have to think about it more. He is a GREAT back but a lot of his yards come from big runs.

Chester Taylor can come in and do the very same things that AP does but in no way would I give up AP

For some reason I was only comparing running backs in my mind. Larry Fitzgerald has broke into the gotta watch him every time he is on the field status. On defense Troy Palamalu comes to mind as an exciting player to watch.

Go watch the 1st half against the top ranked defense in the NFC.

Good point and probably when you look at pure overall importance to their team it is hard to beat Reed. He just comes up short when it comes to hair sticking out of his helmet.
