As a few of us know, there are opportunities with 4 to 5 point middles almost everyday now in college hoops. Assuming minus 10 on juice, are these worth betting? What about less than 110 on at least one side?

You really have to ask if laying -8.5 and taking back +13.5 is a longterm win at -110????

Also, let's assume they are worth it. At minus 110, how much would you be willing to risk?

Would you bet more on the steam side and hedge on the peak?

people I know well have been doing this for years. they never go 50-50.Most times they have a side they like and go 65-35_____last i knew it was mostly totals. NBA in the late 90's there were totals moving 6 points. I think due to computer group(Billy W.) Also some college totals and a few college games. if i remember right they did it looking for a min. 5 pts. on totals/ 3 1/2 on games. max was 70-30---60-40 at the lowest. In mid 70's they were the first one known to chart umps. in MLB. they're all retired or dead now,but I know they were living well.

Do a search on "college middles" here........you will find tons of threads regarding this subject.

Yes, a five point middle is profitable longterm.

Use the "KELLY CRITERION" and rules of standard deviation to determine the size of your wagers.

On another side note: I've been beating pinny's numbers in hoops for the last few weeks and have been getting beat.

if you can bet simultaneously, then hell yeah..but if you bet over 144, then 30 minutes later it jumps to 149, then just keep your original bet..it's +ev in the long run...

Yes long term it is huge +ev. In fact with totals (assuming totals is what you are talking about) anything over 2/2.5 points is good but with that said it may be more beneficial too skip the middle and just bet the bad number as longterm you will be up more money. I use too bet middles all day long in CBB but have done beter not buying back as the second number is usually not +ev this time of year, IMO.

college middles are profitable because all numbers are live...same with NBA and college totals...have known a handful of sharp players that make money with these scenarios...

that is a huge profit situation! 3 points is more than enough especially if at reduced juice.

Yes it is, but I also agree with what Ice said too.
