Before fouling out tonight, Richard Hamilton was a perfect 20 for 20 from the line. The undermanned Pistons needed every point for the win.

Probably not I am looking....Dan Rough of Whitman College made 60 in a row in 1995-96; I am guessing that Mark Price will be up there.

I was at that game. Back then the Jazz played 5 or 6 "home" games in Vegas at Thomas and Mack Center. Other NBA teams has similar homes away from home such as the Celtics did with Hartford Conn. the Atlanta Hawks with St. Louis and a few others.

That night the Jazz played the Houston Rockets and AD tied Wilt Chamberlain's record for most free throws made in a single game (28). He finished with 46 points for the game - Wilt of course scored 100 the night he made 28 FTs. On another night I was at Thomas and Mack when Kareem passed Wilt for the all time NBA scoring lead against the Jazz. The Jazz stopped playing in Vegas in the late 80's for financial reasons.

Wil,

There was an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the earth quake; said 6.2 mag and 8 people killed. Wow, I had no idea it was that serious.

Glaken - I have experienced dozens of quakes but the one the other night was by far the worse. To be honest not much scares me but I have to say when my house was shaking like it was I became a bit concerned. I have spent a lot of time in Quepos where the epi-center was but don't live near there now. Quepos is a funky old tourist town adjacent to a beautiful National Park called Manuel Antonio. Beautiful beaches, Rain forests, and very nice hotels.

I believe Chris Jackson (Mahmoud Abdul Rauf) was very close to breaking the record, but fell just a bit short.

The amazing thing about 97 straight is you only get to shoot 2 and sometimes 3 at a time...Its hard enough making 97 in a row if your standing there shooting 97 straight times...

I recall Rick Barry (with his underhand style) as one of the most prolific FT % players of all time. Led league many times and may have held single season % record as well as consecutive made (over several games) at one time. For some reason (his propensity for the truth ?) the NBA has somewhat blackballed him. He should be a tv analyst or coach. His son's ( although not as good) mirror his intelligence and saavy for the playing the game. Met him in early 80's at Elk's Club National Free throw Contest in Indianapolis. (He was their spokeman and my son was a finalist) He took a genuine interest in the participants, their backgrounds and their basketball playing futures. As a player, he was one competitive individual.

Flipside who are the worst shooters ever?

Off the top, Shaq obviously...

Remember Vin Baker that one year when he missed something like his first 20 foul shots to start the year?

Ike Austin, Manute Bol, two others that come to mind...
