Five navy commanders who detained ten American sailors earlier this month have been awarded medals by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
A diplomatic crisis was narrowly avoided after two US Navy patrol boats crossed into Iran's waters from Kuwait to Bahrain on January 12.
The sailors were released a day later after being held on Farsi Island in the Gulf after it was established the trespassing was not 'hostile or for spying purposes'.

But despite it being established that the incident was not 'hostile' and was caused by a faulty GPS, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (pictured) awarded the Victory medal to US sailors captors and said that Iran should remain wary of America

Despite this, Mr Kamenei awarded the Fath (Victory) medal to Admiral Ali Fadavi, the head of the Guard's navy, and the four commanders said that Iran should remain wary of America despite their recent nuclear deal, Reuters reported.

The medal has previously been awarded to war heroes, politicians and military commanders.

While Mr Fadavi had initially accused the sailors - nine men and one woman - of spying, an investigation later established that the US personnel were led astray by a 'broken navigation system'.

Speaking at the time, Secretary of State John Kerry had said: 'That this issue was resolved peacefully and efficiently is a testament to the critical role diplomacy plays in keeping our country safe, secure, and strong.'
But relations with Washington were strained last month by claims that Iran fired rockets close to a US aircraft carrier in the Gulf.

US military criticized the move, calling it 'abnormal and unprofessional'.

Last year, Iranian patrol boats seized the Maersk Tigris, a cargo ship sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, which meant it was under US protection.

And in March 2007, Iranian patrols captured 15 British Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, interrogated them and held them for 13 days before releasing them.

The US and European nations lifted oil and financial sanctions on Iran and released roughly $100 billion of its assets on January 16 after international inspectors found that the country had followed through with its promise to dismantle large parts of its nuclear program.

Two female soldiers who travelled from Britain to fight ISIS in Iraq survived a deadly shoot-out when terror chiefs closed in on discovering their identities.
The pair - who are working alongside the SAS as officers in the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) - were travelling with locally recruited spies when they were pulled over at an Islamic State checkpoint near the Syrian border.
When their inquisitors' suspicions grew, the women claim to have become embroiled in a gun fight, leaving several extremists dead before escaping with their vehicle almost completely destroyed.
A defence source told the Daily Star: 'These women are probably the most deadly in the armed forces.
'They are extremely fit, intelligent and very professional. They handled themselves really well and have proved to be just as good as the men in every respect.
'They were really up for the fight once they were compromised.'
The two women - both in their mid-20s - have been in the war-torn region for months, putting their lives at serious risk drafting local women to help with their intelligence led operations.
Earlier this month they were travelling to meet a potential recruit as part of an SAS convoy when ISIS fighters stopped them in their tracks.

Seconds from being exposed, the women, armed with pistols and submachine guns, began shooting their way out of trouble, leaving a number of their attackers dead.
Both escaped unharmed but their car was left peppered in bullet holes.
Since arriving in the country, the intelligence the women have received has helped British, US and French forces target the terror network's leaders in air strikes by drones and jets.

The defence source added: 'They sometimes get a hard time from their male colleagues and the banter can get a bit fruity but there is a great deal of mutual respect and they give as good as they get.'
The SRR was formed in 2005. It recruits men and women from all three armed services with only the toughest making it through a gruelling six month recruitment process.
Its members have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria, and have worked closely with MI5 working on counter-terror operations in the UK.

Press TV (The propaganda arm of the batshit crazy Iranian clerics - SL) has interviewed Kaveh Afrasiabi, an author and political scientist, about the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei awarding the “Fath” (Victory) medal to the commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval forces for arresting a number of U.S. sailors who had trespassed on Iran’s territorial waters.

A diplomatic crisis was narrowly avoided after two US Navy patrol boats crossed into Iran’s waters from Kuwait to Bahrain on January 12.

As Reuters reports, Iran distributed medals to the soldiers who captured US sailors and put them on their knees at gunpoint.

One day later, the IRGC Public Relations in a statement said the sailors were freed following an apology from the USA and after technical and operational investigations indicated that the intrusion into Iranian territorial waters was “unintentional”.

“The evidence suggests that they unintentionally entered the Iranian waters because of the failure of their navigation system”, spokesman Ramazan Sharif said.

The medal has previously been awarded to war heroes, politicians and military commanders. It is rarely awarded.

His office tweeted the announcement of the awards in both English and French along with a photo of Khamenei with the military commanders, as he labeled the Americans “intruding USA marines”, erroneously describing them as “marines”.

The capture of the USA sailors “was in fact an act of God, who brought the Americans into our waters so they would be arrested with their hands on their heads through your timely measure”, Khamenei said, according to Press TV.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said the forces extracted a lot of information from the confiscated cell phones and laptops of the US sailors recently captured by Iran after intrusion into the country’s territorial waters.

“We have extracted extensive information from their (American sailors’) laptops and cell phones,” Admiral Fadavi said in a parliamentary session in Tehran on Monday.

The IRGC commander went on to say that the information can be made public if a decision is made to that effect.
Admiral Fadavi also noted that the IRGC has filmed the capture of the US sailors for several hours, the release of which would bring humiliation to the United States.

If US officials say they are angry with and frustrated by the footage released, they would be 100 times more embarrassed if the IRGC releases other films of the capture, the Iranian commander said.

Iran does not seek to humiliate any nation, he said, but stressed that if they want to humiliate Iran, the IRGC would publish the footage and make them even more embarrassed and humiliated.

US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter had earlier said he was "very, very angry" when he saw footage of 10 US Navy sailors detained by Iranian authorities broadcast by Iranian television news.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy on January 12 captured the US Navy sailors inside Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf, but released them the next day following an apology and after technical and operational investigations indicated that the intrusion into Iranian territorial waters was “unintentional”.

Yesterday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei awarded the 'Medal of Fath (Conquest)' to Admiral Fadavi and four other IRGC commanders who made the “courageous and timely” move in the recent capture of American boats and sailors near Iran’s Farsi Island.

Obama should have received one of those medals. He has done more to help Iran than anyone else in the world.

Notice how the sewer rat shit bag completely avoids this thread. Too busy clapping and cheering that "diplomacy" won while Iran has American sailor's phones and computers.

Don't worry, Joe Biden assured us this was standard nautical practice.

Couldn't care less what Iran leaders say to their own people for Propaganda purposes. Our Sailors were in enemy waters and were set free less than 24 hours later, a TREMENDOUS victory for diplomacy.

Another Muslim with a Jewish prayer shawl wrapped around his shoulders and his religion's remixed version of a yarmulkah on his head -- while underground his scientists are spinning centrifuges to make weapons to be aimed at the Jews. Radical Muslims are so perverted and Fucked in the brain.
