Another problem that has not been discussed is that the iphone is mac based..... no spy ware, no virus, no malware. The other phones are PC based. I don't have to tell you guys the problems there.... I bet in about a year all these tablet and phone rivals of Apple will be so bogged down with spy ware, viruses, and malware that they wont even work....Mark my words........

Umm, that's not True.
Would have to do a Search for it, because i remember we went through this before.

The reason why PC's have more Viruses is because PC's had like 95+% of the Computers in the World at one time. So Hackers wrote those Programs to hack into PC's ( Windows ) Why waste the time building a program or Programs to hack into 5% of the Computer World... when they can Build one that will work for 95% of what people have.

As IMac's became more popular, where it was PC with 75-80% over Macs, The hackers have come up with programs to go after Macs.

Go do a search on the internet, You will find plenty of Anti-Virus software for Mac users.
Also read where Apple has placed this into their Macs.

I mean is it Like what we have with PC's ?? NO .. because Like I said above PC's have been around longer and been hit with these for years.

So maybe there are anywhere from ( throwing #'s out there ) 8-10 programs to Hack Macs. and 2,000-10,000 for PC's

found it:

Their operating system is a closed architecture with a much simpler way to close security holes. There are fewer software variations. It is simply harder to develop viruses for them. BUT WAIT, with the new Intel chip, future Macs could be in trouble.

This statement is kind of misleading. The iPhone is Apple based, not necessarily Mac based. Saying it is Mac based assumes it runs a Mac OSX desktop-like operating system. The iPhone runs a mobile OS created by Apple called iOS, which will soon be upgraded to iOS 5. Likewise, Android isn't PC based, that almost assumes that it is based on a Windows OS. Android is linux based. The main reason Android would have problems in the future with malware would be if Google failed to control its app market like Apple does. Apple has ultra stringent guidelines on how an app gets approved. Google has also done a pretty good job so far keeping bad apps out of the market, but there is room for improvement.

There is a big difference between a mobile OS and a desktop OS in how programs/apps are installed and used. On a desktop OS, a software engineer can develop software and just put a download link for people to use. There is no verification process. Inside the mobile OS, apps have to be approved through an app store or app market system. There is user feedback on every app. This makes the mobile OS environment much safer IMO. Sure, Apple is probably a little bit safer, but the difference is probably miniscule.

I find the open source environment to Android much more appealing myself. There is a huge development community for Android, and I have run several custom ROMs on my HTC Evo. The voice integration into Android, Google Navigation/Maps, and the ability to run flash are just a few reasons I prefer Android over iOS.
