Iowa State- UCONN

I've been surprised from the start on Iowa State being favored in this game. I'm a huge Iowa State fan but playing on a virtual home court for UCONN without arguably Iowa State's best player made me think UCONN should be favored. People just don't realize how much of a factor Niang was for Iowa State. I know they can still win if everything clicks but the task is huge with all the factors. I am still hopeful Iowa State wins but I am not going to bet it. Good luck everyone.

ejim / kane top 2 by far on isu

niang distant 3rd, but hugely important for floor spacing so ejim / kane can penetrate

I've watched every Iowa State game this year and trust me Niang is not a distant third. Half there plays revolve around him.

I really don't think UConn wants this game to turn into a track meet. I could be dead wrong here but if Iowa State plays this game to their pace (75+ points) I really think they win this game. Hogue is the X factor. He has played well in the first 2 tourney games and they need him on the glass. UConn really doesn't have a back to the basket big man in the paint so while Niang's loss is big, I don't think they are gonna get killed inside vs. UConn here.
