Has nothing but potato heads and fukkin wins every year. If he coaches Michigan or Ohio State he would have 3 titles already

This guy could pick his team in NFL and i mean any team except New England and Pitt, any other coach he would bounce if he wanted job.

The job Ferentz is doing and has done at IOWA trully is incredible.

The current club is down to their SIXTH man on the RB depth chart from the start of the season!!

Please note, they only have a 5 man depth chart per position!

They came into today with redshirt freshman and a walk-on sophomore as basically their ONLY running backs...............and they lost one of them today.

They have lost a TON of talent the last two years to graduation, but low and behold here they are actually contending for the BIG TEN title this year.

Yes, the BIG TEN appears to be a shitty conference, but still an amazing job by Ferentz.

Huge Ferentz fan. I always look at coaches that get their players into the NFL- and Ferentz is doing very well in that light.

I love to follow recruiting and Iowa is (especially with linemen) are in on the top players, this was something that wasn't happening in the earlier regime.

Buzz, as you probably know, Ferentz is regarded by many as one of the most astute teachers of offensive line play in college football.

Case in point.........Robert Gallery was recruited at Iowa as a TE.

5 years later, Gallery is the 2nd player chosen in the 2004 draft.............as an offensive lineman.

I agree that Ferentz is one of the best coaches in the country and don't think he will stay at Iowa long. He will be off to greener pastures.

I think the only possible job that Ferentz would consider leaving Iowa for would be the Penn State job after Paterno retires.

Hate to rain on the Iowa, parade (goes for Wisc and Minnesota too), but they have to toughen up that non-conference schedule to get positive national exposure.

Iowa has recieved tremendous national exposure the past 2.5 years..............mainly through ESPN.

The current team is ranked right about where I predicted they would be at the beginning of the year.......somewhere between 20-30th in the nation.

Iowa is one of the few teams in the nation that had back-to-back 10+ win seasons coming into this year.

They are 6-2 currently with a remaining schedule of........

PURDUE
@MINNESOTA
WISCONSIN

BOWL GAME

The odds of them winning all 4 of these games or losing all 4 of these games is roughly the same IMO.........with the latter having maybe a tad better chance of occurring.

I agree Fish, but wouldn't they help their schedule if they dropped some MAC schools and played some other schools? They don't win too many road games against quality competition.

Purdue game is a tossup now thanks to Purdues troubles.
They will get killed at Minn.
Wisc game to decide the Big 10 title. Have to lean to Wisc because of better D and Iowas RB situation.

May have the best fans in the Big 10. :awesom:

Hawkeye- Absolutely agree with you about Stoops and Ferentz. I remember that I loved the hiring of Steve Alford and I had no idea who Ferentz was so I thought football would suck for years. Well look out now-- Alford is the one having trouble.

Ferentz seems like an NFL guy. I think thats where his next move is if any??

Buzz- I just dont think so.

He gave up his offensive line coaching duties in the NFL to come back to Iowa and he turned down the JAX job a couple years ago.

I feel very strong that he is going nowhere soon, with the possible exception of PENN STATE like i mentioned earlier.
